In the 2024 military recruitment campaign, Van Yen district has 215 citizens joining the army. Of these, 180 citizens will join the army and 35 citizens will join the People's Public Security.
In Yen Binh district, Mr. Ta Van Long - Standing Deputy Secretary of Yen Bai Provincial Party Committee - was present and saw off 205 new recruits to join the army.
In 2024, Yen Binh district had 205 young people joining the army; of which 170 citizens were assigned to military units and 35 citizens were assigned to police units. 43 citizens wrote applications to volunteer for military service, 67 new recruits were admitted to the Party before leaving.
Also on the morning of February 25, Mr. Tran Huy Tuan - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of the Military Service Council of Yen Bai province - attended the 2024 military enlistment ceremony in Yen Bai city.
In this year's military recruitment, Yen Bai city has 82 citizens joining the army, of which 50 citizens join the military service and 32 citizens join the people's police service. Among the new recruits, 16 citizens are party members, 50 young people have written applications to volunteer to join the army. The new recruits are assigned to Division 304, Military Region II.
At the ceremony, representatives of the new recruits expressed their determination to carry out new tasks in the military environment, vowing to study hard, train, overcome difficulties to excellently complete their tasks, promote the fine traditions of the Vietnam People's Army and the traditions of their homeland.
In 2024, Yen Bai province was assigned the target of conscripting 1,310 citizens. Of these, 1,050 citizens were assigned to units of the People's Army and 260 citizens were assigned to units of the People's Public Security.
According to the assessment of the Yen Bai Provincial Military Service Council, the selection and call-up of citizens for military service was carried out in accordance with the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and policies, and the procedures and regulations in military recruitment.
Yen Bai has implemented the policy of "rounded recruitment" with the motto "recruiting the right person", minimizing the compensation rate after military transfer, calling young civil servants, public employees and children of cadres into the Army to ensure social justice; giving priority to calling up children of ethnic minorities to create a source of grassroots cadres.
In 2024, the quality of Yen Bai's new recruits is quite high: nearly 88% are aged 18 to 21; nearly 56% have high school education or higher; nearly 66% have health class 1 or 2. 100% are union members, of which young party members account for nearly 1%.
