Opposite Nguyen Bich Tuyen will not be with the Vietnamese women's volleyball team to participate in the world championship held in Thailand in the next few days.

On August 20, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team left for Thailand to participate in the 2025 World Championship. Right before departure, athlete Bich Tuyen decided to withdraw from the tournament.

General Secretary of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation (VFV) Le Tri Truong said that this was a proposal from athlete Bich Tuyen. After consideration, the Vietnam Volleyball Federation and the coaching staff of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team respected the decision of this excellent setter.

The Vietnam Volleyball Federation also affirmed that Bich Tuyen is an important member and always welcomes her to return to contribute to the Vietnam women's volleyball team when she is ready.

The news that Bich Tuyen refused to participate in the world tournament surprised many people because she was previously on the list of 14 athletes registered with the tournament's Organizing Committee.

Thus, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team only brought 13 athletes to Thailand. Bich Tuyen's absence is very regrettable, greatly affecting the team's strength because she is the team's main scorer.

Most recently, in the second round of SEA V-League 2025, Bich Tuyen scored 45 points to help the Vietnamese women's volleyball team defeat Thailand for the first time in history.

According to the plan, after finishing 2 friendly matches in Dong Anh (against Spain and Kenya), coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's team will move to Thailand at 10:30 on August 20, preparing for the 2025 World Championship. This highly anticipated tournament will take place from August 22 to September 7, bringing together 32 of the world's strongest teams. The Vietnamese women's volleyball team is in Group G with Poland, Germany and Kenya.
