According to VTC News reporters, on the evening of the second day of Tet, tourists from all over flocked to the beaches in Vung Tau City ( Ba Ria - Vung Tau province) to have fun and swim.
The rough seas do not affect much the spring travel and Tet holiday of local tourists.
In the afternoon of the same day, the number of visitors gradually increased, however, there was no congestion at some swimming spots in the Front Beach and Back Beach areas. Tourists coming to Ho Chi Minh City enjoyed swimming leisurely and comfortably, without having to jostle like every year.
Mr. Hong Phong (living in Ho Chi Minh City) said that he and his family went to Vung Tau City to swim on the second day of Tet. According to Mr. Phong, the beach was partly clear because the sea was rough and the weather was not ideal. However, he and his family still enjoyed the spring trip and planned to return to Ho Chi Minh City on the morning of the third day of Tet to continue visiting relatives and friends.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy (living in Ho Chi Minh City) said that since the morning of the 2nd, her family has moved to Bai Sau in Vung Tau City to swim. "The sea is rough, the wind is strong but it does not affect my family's spring outing. Since this morning, the Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway to Vung Tau has been jammed, so I took advantage of the Tet holiday to go swimming comfortably and then go back to work," Ms. Thuy added.
Responding to VTC News, Mr. Trinh Hang - Director of the Department of Tourism of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, said that the rough seas did not affect too much the spring travel and Tet holiday of local tourists.
"The sea is the same every year. The sea follows the seasons, the weather is not unusual. Ba Ria - Vung Tau province has two sides of the sea, one side is affected by the Northeast monsoon, the other side is not, only when there is a Southwest wind will this side be affected, so tourists can still swim and have fun normally," said Mr. Hang.
Regarding the prices of motels and hotels at tourist accommodation establishments, Mr. Trinh Hang said that they have been listed in advance, so tourists do not need to worry about being overcharged or overcharged when traveling to Ba Ria - Vung Tau in early spring.
To attract tourists during the 2024 Lunar New Year, the Department of Tourism has proposed many plans to support tourism development during Tet.
"The Department of Tourism has issued many documents to districts, cities and tourism management boards to carry out tourism attraction work as usual. At the same time, there are programs to welcome and serve tourists from inside and outside the province during the Lunar New Year holiday ," said Mr. Hang.
