Blackpink officially renewed their contract with their management company.

YG Entertainment representative shared: "We have completed the Board of Directors' resolution on renewing the exclusive group contract for all 4 members of Blackpink, artists under the company. After careful discussion with Blackpink, we signed an exclusive contract for group activities based on trust."

The contract renewal between the four members of Blackpink and YG Entertainment was supposed to be completed last August. However, they delayed it for several months.

Over the past 3 months, rumors about Blackpink members refusing to renew their contracts with YG Entertainment have continuously spread, causing fans of the Korean group to worry.

Yang Hyun Suk - Communications Director of YG Entertainment - happily stated: "I am very happy to be able to continue my relationship with Blackpink. In the future, Blackpink will try to shine brighter in the global music market as Kpop artists (Korean youth music). We always support and believe in what they do."

It is known that the contract between the 4 members of Blackpink and YG Entertainment is a group activity contract. Notices about the individual activity contracts of each member and YG Entertainment were not mentioned.

According to Korean media, the name Blackpink will still be maintained, but the members' individual activities may no longer be in the hands of the entertainment group YG Entertainment.

Blackpink is a South Korean girl group formed by YG Entertainment in 2016. They consist of four members: Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa. Since their debut in 2016, the group has continuously created a buzz with hit songs that have their own unique and feminist imprint.

Last November, Blackpink received an honorary medal from King Charles III and was invited to attend a banquet at Buckingham Palace, UK. Blackpink members attended the banquet as ambassadors of COP26 - the 26th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
