BMW iX3 2026 10 minutes charge, run up to more than 350 km

BMW has confirmed that it will officially launch the all-new generation of the iX3 electric SUV at the International Motor Show in Germany (IAA) in September 2025.

Although only pre-production images have been revealed, it is clear that the design of the new BMW iX3 SUV is inspired by the Neue Klasse X concept.

BMW is currently conducting real-world testing for the vehicle, with several prototypes undergoing rigorous testing at Miramas, France.

In addition, the German automaker also revealed notable upgrades to the new generation BMW iX3: longer operating range, superior fast charging capability and a completely new operating system with an improved display interface.

BMW says the sixth-generation powertrain offers a big step forward in performance and range. Specifically, the BMW iX3 M50 xDrive version can reach a maximum range of up to 800 km according to the WLTP standard. Thanks to the ability to support 400 kW fast charging, just 10 minutes of charging can run more than 350 km.

This is achieved by a new 800V electrical architecture that enables ultra-fast charging while remaining compatible with common 400V DC charging systems. In addition, the iX3 also supports bi-directional charging with features such as Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) at 3.7 kW, Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) and Vehicle-to-Home (V2H).

The new electric SUV is also equipped with BMW Panoramic iDrive display technology, consisting of 4 components: Panoramic Vision (displayed on the windshield across the entire width of the vehicle).

The 3D HUD display floats above, the central screen uses matrix backlight technology, and the Shy-Tech steering wheel has illuminated buttons and haptic feedback when functions are activated.

The entire system operates on BMW's latest OS X platform, offering extensive personalization, intelligent driver assistance, and comprehensive remote software updates. The new generation BMW iX3 will be officially launched at IAA 2025, Germany.
