Ministry of Industry and Trade: From June 1st, gas stations must sell E10, replacing RON 95.

From June 1st, market management forces will crack down on business practices that do not comply with the regulations regarding the sale of E10 gasoline.

The Department of Domestic Market Management and Development ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ) recently issued document No. 1525 dated May 19th to the Departments of Industry and Trade of provinces and cities regarding the monitoring and inspection of the implementation of E10 bioethanol fuel.

The Departments of Industry and Trade of provinces and cities are required to monitor and inspect the implementation of E10 bioethanol fuel.

According to the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development, in implementing the regulations on the roadmap for applying the blending ratio of biofuels with traditional fuels in Vietnam as stipulated in Circular No. 50/2025/TT-BCT dated November 7, 2025, of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and to ensure the synchronized and effective implementation of the E10 biofuel roadmap, avoiding delays or disruptions in supply that could affect the market, local Departments of Industry and Trade are coordinating the implementation of several key tasks.

From now until May 31, 2026, localities need to intensify propaganda and raise awareness among petroleum businesses regarding compliance with the roadmap for transitioning to E10 gasoline; at the same time, widely disseminate information about the safety and benefits of E10 bio-gasoline to create consensus among consumers in the area.

Selling E10 gasoline as scheduled.

In addition, the Departments of Industry and Trade are required to remind and closely monitor gasoline retail outlets to promptly complete the technical infrastructure, tanks, and pumps to switch to selling E10 bioethanol fuel according to the prescribed schedule; and to require retail outlets to seriously implement the conversion to selling E10 fuel from June 1, 2026, absolutely ensuring that there is no delay or disruption in the supply.

From June 1st, market management forces will coordinate with relevant agencies to intensify inspections of retail gasoline stations in the area; resolutely handle violations such as selling the wrong type of fuel according to the schedule; hoarding goods to create supply shortages; arbitrarily ceasing sales without justifiable reasons or showing signs of speculation, unreasonable price increases, and other legal violations.

Notably, the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development requires market management forces at all levels and assigned officials to be held responsible if retail gasoline stations fail to comply with the conversion roadmap; or if serious violations or prolonged, complex developments occur, destabilizing the gasoline market in their managed areas without timely detection and handling.

The Department of Domestic Market Management and Development also requested that localities coordinate closely to ensure the synchronized and smooth implementation of E10 bioethanol fuel nationwide.
