What will be the structure of the new driving theory test with 600 questions?

According to information from the Traffic Police Department (under the Ministry of Public Security ), the new set of road motor vehicle driving test questions consisting of 600 questions will be applied from June 1. Compared to the previous set compiled by the Ministry of Transport, the number of questions remains the same, but many questions have been revised and supplemented.

Basically, the new set of questions is designed to closely follow and upgrade the old set of questions, according to the theory in legal documents related to road and railway traffic safety. Therefore, the way to study the new set of theoretical questions will not cause difficulties for students. The group that has been revised, supplemented, and newly composed the most is the general regulations and road traffic rules. The group that has changed the least is the questions about driving test or road signs.

The questions in the new set are divided into 6 chapters: Chapter 1 includes 180 questions on general regulations and road traffic rules; Chapter 2 includes 25 questions on traffic culture, driver ethics, fire prevention, fire fighting and rescue skills; Chapter 3 includes 58 questions on driving techniques; Chapter 4 includes 37 questions on structure and repair; Chapter 5 includes 185 questions on road signs; Chapter 6 includes 115 questions on driving test and skills in handling traffic situations.

Compared to the old set of questions, the new set of questions no longer includes the "transportation business" chapter. Drivers who want to operate a commercial transport vehicle will now have to complete a separate professional training course to obtain a practice certificate.

The number of questions used for each driving class has also changed compared to before, because the license classes have changed. Accordingly, driving licenses (GPLX) of classes B, C1, C, D1, D2, D and classes BE, C1E, CE, D1E, D2E, DE (pulling trailers) will use 600 questions, of which 60 questions are about handling serious traffic safety situations, also known as failing points. GPLX class B1 is 300 questions, 30 failing points. GPLX class A1, A is 250 questions, 20 failing points.

Each question has only one answer. With zero points, if you get just one question wrong in this group, you will fail the theory section.

Since mid-May, the Traffic Police of more than 10 provinces and cities have started organizing driving license tests after more than two months of receiving the transfer from the transport sector, including Hai Duong. However, students scheduled to take the test from June 1 onwards will use the questions in the new set of questions. Students taking the test before this time will still use the 600-question set compiled by the transport sector .
