Over the past time, officers and soldiers of the Border Guard of Dong Thap province have always strived to compete and achieve many achievements in all fields of work, successfully completing the task of firmly protecting the sovereignty and security of the Fatherland's borders, building a clean and strong grassroots party organization; building a comprehensively strong unit "Exemplary, typical".

OUTSTANDING RESULTS in the EMULATION MOVEMENT

In 2024, the situation of national sovereignty and border security on the Dong Thap - Prey Veng border line is basically stable; political security, social order and safety in the border area are maintained; the friendly and cooperative relationship between the two sides of the border is always maintained and developed. However, the situation of rural security, violations of border regulations, illegal entry and exit activities, smuggling, trade fraud, drug crimes... are still complicated.

In the face of the above situation, the Party Committee and the Border Guard Command of Dong Thap province have closely followed the leadership and direction of the Party Committee, the Border Guard Command and the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee, the direction and guidance of all levels to propose many policies and solutions, proactively innovate many contents and forms, creating new breakthroughs in the implementation of the emulation movement. With the theme "Solidarity, exemplary, disciplined, proactive, creative, determined to win", officers and soldiers of the Provincial Border Guard competed to achieve achievements in all fields of work, thereby achieving many outstanding results.

Colonel Nguyen Thanh Hoa - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Commander of the Border Guard of Dong Thap province said that the Provincial Border Guard Command focuses on leading and directing the synchronous implementation of working measures, presiding over coordination with forces to manage and protect the safety of the border system, national border markers and works on the border. At the same time, strengthen professional measures to study and grasp the situation, promptly serve the leadership, direction and handling work, avoid being passive and surprised; maintain strict implementation of directives, orders and regulations on combat readiness , the Combat Readiness Plan to protect the border and areas during peak periods...

Along with that, effectively implement 33 specialized plans, peak plans to prevent and combat all kinds of crimes and social evils, successfully combat the professional plan on transporting firecrackers across the border; coordinate with forces to arrest and handle 115 cases with 225 subjects on drugs, illegal transportation of contraband across the border, gambling; notably arresting a case of transporting crystal meth across the border, the seized evidence was more than 3,969 grams, administrative fines of over 630 million VND. At the same time, coordinate and manage the internal border area to ensure safety, not to let hot spots of social order occur in the border area. Maintain strict implementation of procedures, inspection, control, and border supervision at border gates, ensuring border traffic activities; preside over and coordinate to advise the Provincial People's Committee to submit to the Government for approval of the scope of Dinh Ba International Border Gate area, Thuong Phuoc; Upgrade Thuong Phuoc International Border Gate into an international road and river border gate.

Border Guard forces help people in border areas build houses

The Provincial Border Guard Command advised and coordinated with localities to strengthen border diplomacy and people's diplomacy; regularly maintained situation exchanges, held talks, conducted bilateral patrols and coordinated timely handling of incidents occurring on the border; coordinated to organize free medical examinations and medicine for 1,500 people in Peam Chor district, Prey Veng province worth 680 million VND. Thereby, maintaining good relations of solidarity, friendship and cooperation on both sides of the border.

In addition, through the implementation of the "People's Border Guard Festival" and models to help people, social security has been supported for border communes worth 5.32 billion VND; effectively implementing the Project "Promoting the role of the People's Army in participating in the dissemination and education of law, mobilizing people to comply with the law at the grassroots level for the period 2021 - 2027" and the Project "Organizing intensive training; propagating and disseminating the Vietnam Border Guard Law and detailed regulations for the period 2021 - 2025". At the same time, improving the effectiveness of the implementation of the unit's programs and models, contributing to consolidating the political base, developing the economy, culture and society in the border area with the amount of money donated over 3.4 billion VND through organizing and replicating the model "Border lessons"; planting over 2,000 trees, giving over 800 gifts; 20 solidarity houses, helping people put out fires, overcome and repair 32 houses... Actively and effectively implementing the "Eliminating Temporary Houses" Program, activities to support people in developing household economies in 8 border communes, creating a widespread spread of border protection tasks, roles and responsibilities of the Border Guard.

PROMOTING THE QUALITIES OF "UNCLE HO'S SOLDIERS"

To achieve the above achievements, in the process of performing its tasks, the Border Guard of Dong Thap province has always closely followed and received the attention of the leadership and direction of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee; the Party Committee, the Border Guard Command, the attention and coordination of local agencies, departments, branches and organizations and related units. The Provincial Border Guard Command has been regularly consolidated and improved in both quantity and quality; focused on thoroughly studying and studying directives and resolutions of all levels; specifically applying them to the situation, functions and tasks of the unit. Thereby, 100% of officers and soldiers in the unit have a strong political stance, are steadfast in the goals and ideals of the Party, actively study and practice to constantly improve their capacity, qualifications and revolutionary ethics, always uphold the spirit of responsibility, solidarity and complete all assigned tasks.

Colonel Nguyen Van Minh - Political Commissar of the Provincial Border Guard Command said that the emulation movement of the Border Guard has closely linked regular and surprise emulation, specialized and thematic emulation movements and campaigns for Party building and unit building. The Border Guard is always united and unified; discipline is strengthened, there are many innovations and creativity, upholding the will to fight and win, bravely overcoming difficulties, ready to receive and excellently complete all assigned tasks. The results of the emulation and reward activities of the unit in the past year have directly contributed to building a strong and clean Party organization, a strong and comprehensive agency and unit; encouraging and motivating cadres and soldiers to uphold the good qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", and excellently completing assigned tasks.

The Party Committee and the Border Guard Command thoroughly grasp and seriously implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, directives, resolutions and instructions from superiors; pay attention to and care for the lives of officers and soldiers; promote emulation movements, maintain effective implementation of movements and campaigns, maintain strict implementation of military discipline, build regular units and comply with discipline. Thereby, creating fundamental and solid changes in compliance with discipline and laws, ensuring traffic safety.

Along with that, continue to thoroughly grasp and well implement Regulation No. 144-QD/TW dated May 9, 2024 of the Central Executive Committee on "Revolutionary ethical standards of cadres and party members in the new period" and regulations on setting examples; focus on educating, training and building a contingent of cadres and party members, first of all leaders at all levels who are exemplary in moral qualities and lifestyle, have a steadfast and steadfast political stance and ideology, preserve and promote the qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" in the new situation. At the same time, promote the role of mass organizations in proactively performing the tasks of building, managing and protecting national border sovereignty, fighting against crimes, smuggling, and working to help people... Through the assessment and classification of party organizations and mass organizations in 2024, all have excellently completed their tasks.

Through the process of building, fighting and growing up, officers and soldiers of the Border Guard of Dong Thap province have always inherited and promoted the tradition of the unit, firmly protecting the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Fatherland, building a peaceful, friendly and cooperative border. With the achievements, in 2024, the Border Guard of Dong Thap province was honored to receive the Emulation Flag from the Border Guard High Command and the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee awarded a Certificate of Merit to the Provincial Border Guard Party Committee for its excellent performance in 2024.
