This move by Apple will limit service and repair support for the iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 8. Specifically, all iPhone 7 Plus versions are listed as “vintage” products by the company.

Notably, the 64GB and 256GB versions of the iPhone 8 are listed, but the 128GB version is not, as it has been on sale for a longer period of time. The (PRODUCT)RED iPhone 8 models are already on Apple’s “vintage” product list.
The iPhone maker considers a device “vintage” when it has been discontinued for five to less than seven years. Apple retail stores and Apple Authorized Service Providers (AASPs) can still provide repairs for older devices, but only if the necessary parts are available.
After the 7-year mark, the device will be classified as “end of life” by Apple, meaning all official hardware support will be completely discontinued, including at Apple Stores or authorized service centers.
Apple has also moved the iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 2 from the “vintage” product list to the “end of life” product list. This means that the “bitten Apple” no longer provides genuine repair services for these two models.
