"Implementing the direction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs , the Vietnamese Embassy in the Philippines is closely coordinating with Philippine authorities to determine the workers' residency status, coordinate in providing information to urge local authorities to promptly come up with solutions and investigate the case, promptly protect citizens, and ensure the rights and interests of Vietnamese citizens," Deputy Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pham Thu Hang updated information after many Vietnamese people were rescued from forced labor facilities in the Philippines.

According to the Vietnamese Embassy in the Philippines, on May 4, Philippine authorities rescued more than 1,000 people, including Vietnamese citizens, who were forced to work at a facility owned by Clark Sun Valley Hub Group in Pampanga, near the capital Manila. These people then stayed safely at a facility arranged by Philippine authorities.

Ms. Pham Thu Hang emphasized that Vietnam advocates promoting legal, safe and orderly migration, while resolutely combating illegal migration, illegal migration and human trafficking.
