Ministry of Defense donates 40 billion VND to overcome storm and flood consequences

At the reception, Lieutenant General Truong Thien To, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, said that in recent days, storm No. 3 has caused enormous damage to people and property of the State and people in the northern provinces. The Vietnam People's Army has performed well its function as a "working army", carried out the task of "fighting in peacetime", and demonstrated its core role in responding to and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters and catastrophes. Officers and soldiers of the Vietnam People's Army have not been afraid of difficulties and hardships, taking the lead in activities to prevent, combat, and overcome the consequences of storm No. 3.

In addition to mobilizing forces, agencies and units of the entire army also supported money and facilities worth hundreds of billions of VND, supported people in the affected areas with hundreds of tons of goods (dry food, instant noodles, drinking water, canned meat, milk)... supported people and local authorities in environmental sanitation, disease prevention, overcoming and repairing social security works in the area damaged by storms and floods, restoring normal activities after the storm, promptly visiting, encouraging and helping families who suffered losses in life and property.

Presenting the donation to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Lieutenant General Truong Thien To hoped that the Central Relief Mobilization Committee would quickly allocate resources directly to the provinces that suffered heavy damage from storm No. 3, helping localities quickly overcome the consequences of storms and floods, and soon stabilize people's lives.

Thanking the support of the Ministry of National Defense, Vice President - General Secretary Nguyen Thi Thu Ha said that, in addition to the constant attention of the Party and State, the military and police forces have mobilized officers and soldiers to accompany the people in responding to and overcoming the consequences and incidents caused by storm No. 3, leaving many emotional impressions in the hearts of the people. The officers, soldiers and armed forces have defied hardships and dangers, devoted themselves to the people to overcome this difficult period, becoming a solid support in the hearts of the people.

With sincere gratitude for the great contributions and sacrifices of the Vietnam People's Army and the armed forces in general, Vice President - General Secretary Nguyen Thi Thu Ha pledged that the donation will be transferred to localities as proposed by the Ministry of National Defense, with the spirit of fastest and most timely allocation to work with local Party committees and authorities to help people quickly overcome damage, restore production, and stabilize their lives.
