Nearly 2,000 billion VND added to support housing for meritorious people

(Chinhphu.vn) - This is part of a total support package of more than VND 18,530 billion allocated for 2025, to promote socio-economic development and ensure social security nationwide.

Decision 21/2024/QD-TTg stipulates support of 60 million VND/household for new house construction; 30 million VND/household for house renovation and repair.

Specifically, according to Decision No. 1568/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister, the local budget in 2025 will be supplemented from the increased central budget revenue in 2024. The decision aims to increase resources for localities in performing socio -economic development tasks, while ensuring social security policies, especially for vulnerable groups in society.

The total additional capital is VND 18,530,638 billion, taken from the increased central budget revenue in 2024. This support is divided into two main objectives:

Bonus for exceeding revenue and investment estimates in 2024 for localities is 16,591 billion VND.

VND 1,939,638 billion is used to implement housing support policies for people with revolutionary contributions, according to Decision No. 21/2024/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister .

Regarding implementation, the People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities are responsible for managing and using the additional capital for the right purposes, right subjects and in compliance with legal regulations. The use of the budget must ensure efficiency, economy and avoid loss and waste.

The Ministry of Finance is assigned to synthesize and report to the National Assembly at the nearest session on the results of the allocation and use of the increased central budget revenue in 2024. At the same time, the Ministry is responsible for the content and data of the report in accordance with its assigned functions and tasks.

The decision takes effect immediately in July 2025.
