The powerful formation of 5 SU-30MK2 fighters prepares for the A80 ceremony

The five-aircraft SU-30MK2 formation flight is being practiced in preparation for a major national holiday.

Lieutenant Colonel Chu Quoc Khanh, Deputy Commander of Military Training of the 927th Air Force Regiment (371st Division, Air Defense-Air Force Command), said: “During the training exercise for the A80 mission, a large number of aircraft participated, especially at the Kep airfield of the 927th Regiment. Major Nguyen Van Hai, a pilot from the 927th Air Regiment, shared: “In this A80 welcoming flight formation, the air force has undergone many changes compared to before, with an increased number of aircraft and larger formations. Currently, we are training with two SU-30MK2 formations, one with 5 aircraft and the other with 3, an increase compared to previous major events" (Photo: Manh Quan).

This also marks the first time the Vietnamese Air Force has deployed a flight demonstration plan with a formation of five SU-30MK2 aircraft, a major challenge requiring absolute precision in coordination between the pilots.

"We thoroughly studied the flight execution methods, developed a training plan and lesson plan suitable for the actual flight conditions over Ba Dinh Square. Some more complex and powerful maneuvers were also added to ensure the performance was as effective as possible," Major Hai continued (Photo: Manh Quan).

The formation of four L-39NG aircraft, with their wingspans arranged in a ladder shape, glided across the sky with perfect synchronization and precision, creating a powerful and captivating image.

At Tuy Hoa airport, pilots of the 910th Regiment completed many hours of training flights, ensuring the technical skill and accuracy of each maneuver. Afterwards, the unit moved to Kep airport, continuing training with a formation of four L-39NG aircraft to prepare for the celebratory flight for the A80th anniversary (Photo: Manh Quan).

According to the flight plan for the A80 ceremony, a total of 30 aircraft of various types will be deployed, including: Mi helicopters; C295 and C212i transport aircraft; Yak-130 multirole training aircraft; L-39NG training aircraft; and SU-30MK2 fighter jets.

Currently, eight Yak-130 aircraft belonging to the 940th Regiment (Air Force Officer School, Air Defense-Air Force Command) are present at Kep airfield, ready for training in the near future to participate in the A80 mission (Photo: Manh Quan).
