On July 17, the Department of Planning and Investment of Quang Ngai province said that the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province has directed the expenditure of more than 567 billion VND from the source of increased revenue to implement the provincial budget compared to the estimate assigned by the Provincial People's Council and saving expenditures in 2023, to implement public investment projects in the area.
The reason why the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province used the above money to spend on public investment projects is because the revenue from land use fees in 2024 is too difficult.
Accordingly, the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province assigned the Department of Finance to urgently enter the budget for the list of construction projects in 2024 that previously implemented the capital plan from land use fee revenue.
This VND567 billion will be spent on 33 projects carried over from previous years, 12 new projects starting in 2024 and other projects.
Among these, there are notable projects such as: dam downstream of Tra Khuc river, road connecting Thach Bich - Tinh Phong bridge, investment in construction of anti-erosion embankment combined with land fund on the north bank of Tra Khuc river (section through Tinh Long commune and Tinh Khe commune, Quang Ngai city)...
According to the plan, in 2024, Quang Ngai will collect 3,800 billion VND from land use sources. However, in the first 6 months of the year, the province only collected 239 billion VND.
It is forecasted that by the end of this year, revenue from land use will also be very low. This situation has caused a series of works and projects to be temporarily suspended, including many key works.
