On July 17th, the Department of Planning and Investment of Quang Ngai province announced that the Provincial People's Committee of Quang Ngai had directed the allocation of over 567 billion VND from increased provincial budget revenue compared to the provincial People's Council's approved budget and savings from 2023 expenditures to implement public investment projects in the province.
The reason the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee used the aforementioned funds for public investment projects is because revenue from land use fees in 2024 was extremely difficult to obtain.
Accordingly, the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee has instructed the Department of Finance to urgently enter the budget estimates for the projects scheduled for construction in 2024 that were previously funded from land use fee revenue.
This 567 billion VND will be allocated to 33 projects carried over from previous years, 12 new projects starting in 2024, and other projects.

Among these, notable projects include: the downstream dam on the Tra Khuc River, the road connecting Thach Bich Bridge and Tinh Phong, and the investment in constructing an embankment to prevent erosion combined with land use on the north bank of the Tra Khuc River (the section passing through Tinh Long and Tinh Khe communes, Quang Ngai City)...
According to the plan, Quang Ngai province was expected to collect 3,800 billion VND from land use fees in 2024. However, in the first six months of the year, the province only collected 239 billion VND.
Forecasts indicate that revenue from land use fees will remain very low until the end of this year. This situation has led to the temporary suspension of numerous construction projects, including many key projects.
