On the morning of June 2nd, at the intersection of road and railway in the Hoang Liet area - National Highway 1A, a task force from Traffic Police Team No. 14 (Traffic Police Department, Hanoi City Police) intensified inspections and enforcement of violations to ensure traffic safety and prevent accidents.
Observations show that when the red light warning of an approaching train is activated or the barrier begins to lower, most road users comply with regulations, stopping their vehicles to wait for the train to pass. However, there are still cases of motorcyclists deliberately accelerating to cross the level crossing or weaving through gaps as the barrier is closing.

Notably, there have been cases where drivers, even after the red light had already turned on, proceeded to cross the railway tracks before the barrier completely closed. In other cases, drivers deliberately squeezed through the area where the barrier was lowering to continue their journey. These actions, driven by a desire to save a few minutes, pose a significant risk of serious accidents.
According to officials on duty, many people still believe they can cross the level crossing in time before the train arrives. This complacency is the cause of many serious railway accidents. If a vehicle breaks down, collides, or the driver loses composure while on the tracks, the consequences can be devastating.

During their duties, traffic police officers stopped numerous violators to educate, remind, and handle violations according to regulations. In addition to enforcement, officers also directly explained to citizens the dangers of crossing the railway tracks when the "no crossing" signal has been given.
Speaking to reporters, Major Phung Duc Hieu, an officer of Road Traffic Police Team No. 14, said that recently, the unit has regularly intensified patrols and inspections at railway level crossings to promptly detect and handle violations.

According to Major Phung Duc Hieu, not only the Road Traffic Police Team No. 14 but also the Traffic Police Department of Hanoi City Police and local teams have intensified inspections and handling of violations of railway traffic safety regulations. As a result, people's compliance awareness has improved significantly, and the number of violations has decreased considerably compared to before.
However, some road users still maintain a complacent attitude, disregarding danger and deliberately violating traffic rules just to save a very short amount of time. This behavior poses many risks because once a train is approaching, drivers have virtually no chance to react if an accident occurs.
Major Phung Duc Hieu stated that in the coming period, the traffic police force will continue to strengthen patrols, inspections, and strictly handle violations at railway level crossings; while also promoting awareness campaigns to improve people's compliance with the law.
Authorities advise road users to strictly adhere to traffic lights, warning bells, and barrier systems when crossing railway tracks. Waiting for the train to pass only takes a few minutes, but it can prevent unfortunate accidents and protect the safety of yourself, your family, and the community.
