Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh has just directly inspected the construction site of two expressways, Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon section and Quy Nhon - Chi Thanh section passing through Phu Yen province.

According to the report of Project Management Board 85, the Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon Expressway Project, which is more than 70 km long, has so far achieved progress of more than 70% of the contract value, 0.29% faster than the approved progress.

The 61.7 km Quy Nhon - Chi Thanh Expressway project passing through the two provinces of Binh Dinh and Phu Yen has achieved more than 71% of its output, basically meeting requirements.

At the same time, both projects basically completed 79 bridges, with the remaining 14 bridges still under construction.

Currently, the basic difficulties and problems in the two projects have been resolved. The weather has entered the dry season, contractors have been focusing on mobilizing equipment and human resources to speed up the construction progress at the site.

Regarding the Quy Nhon - Chi Thanh Expressway Project, Mr. Pham Van Minh, Director of Project Management Board 85, said that the Ky Lo Bridge, nearly 1.9 km long and 49 m high, is being constructed in strong wind conditions, so it is facing many difficulties, but the contractor is making efforts to handle this "critical path".

Ky Lo bridge, part of Quy Nhon - Chi Thanh expressway, is still under construction and has not yet completed the beam launching.
Ky Lo Bridge, across Ky Lo River, part of Quy Nhon - Chi Thanh Expressway is still under construction, beams have not been completed.

The project management board leader also said that in package 11-XL of the Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon Expressway Project, it was not until October 2024 that there was a policy to change the purpose of forest use for the section through natural forest (slope section). This led to the contractor receiving the site for this section of the route 8 months behind schedule.

At the same time, project implementation units focus on handling the remaining huge volume of earth and rock excavation of about 1.6 million m3 to ensure the progress of the bid package and the overall progress of the project.

The management board leaders committed to opening the two expressway projects Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon and Quy Nhon - Chi Thanh on September 2.

During the inspection, Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh acknowledged and praised the progress of the construction of two expressway projects through Binh Dinh and Phu Yen provinces; especially the determination to overcome adverse weather conditions at Ky Lo bridge.

The Minister of Construction requested that units take advantage of the dry season in the Central region to speed up construction progress. The investor must direct contractors to work day and night, and increase overtime.

“The more difficult the construction is, the more determined we must be, and we must try to finish it as soon as possible. By September 2, the remaining Quy Nhon - Chi Thanh and Chi Thanh - Van Phong projects must be connected to celebrate the big holiday, completing the route from North to South,” Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh requested.
