Minister, Chairman of the Ethnic Committee Hau A Lenh answers questions on a group of issues in the field of ethnicity

Leading the questioning of a group of issues in the ethnic field, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue said that the National Assembly will question the Minister and Chairman of the Ethnic Committee on key issues: Responsibilities of the Ethnic Committee and coordination with ministries and branches in implementing national target programs (new rural construction in the 2021-2025 period; sustainable poverty reduction in the 2021-2025 period; socio -economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas in the 2021-2030 period); Policies to attract resources to support investment in developing ethnic minority and mountainous areas, areas with difficult and especially difficult socio-economic conditions; Solutions to remove difficulties and obstacles in ethnic policies related to the delimitation of communes and villages in ethnic minority and mountainous areas; Solving difficulties in residential land and production land for ethnic minorities, overcoming the situation of spontaneous nomadic migration, shifting cultivation, and deforestation.

Speaking at the question-and-answer session on the afternoon of June 6, Minister and Chairman of the Ethnic Committee Hau A Lenh affirmed that ethnic work is a long-term, urgent strategic task of our Party and State, carried out through the Party's policies, legal regulations and policy systems related to many sectors and fields, contributing significantly to the implementation of the strategy of great solidarity among Vietnamese ethnic groups.

Our Party and State have issued many policies for ethnic minority and ethnic minority areas. With the participation of all levels, sectors, localities and the efforts of ethnic minorities, the socio-economy of ethnic minority areas has developed significantly, the economic structure has changed positively, people's livelihoods have become increasingly diverse and rich, income has been improved, security and order have been maintained, and the great solidarity of ethnic groups has been consolidated and strengthened. The national target program for socio-economic development of ethnic minority and mountainous areas for the period 2021-2030 is designed with 10 component projects with the participation of many ministries and sectors, implemented in 51 provinces of ethnic minority and mountainous areas...

The Minister said that the implementation of ethnic affairs, ethnic policies, and the lives of ethnic minorities in ethnic minority areas still face many difficulties and shortcomings. Policies to support ethnic minorities have been issued quite fully, and the system of documents guiding the implementation of the National Target Program has been issued but has not met the requirements, leading to difficulties in implementing policies for ethnic minority areas.

Minister Hau A Lenh said that the Ethnic Committee has sent a report to the National Assembly on a number of issues that require answers to questions, including four major issues. The Ethnic Committee continues to listen, explain, and accept the opinions of National Assembly deputies.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang; Ministers of the Ministries of Planning and Investment, Finance, Home Affairs, Agriculture and Rural Development, Transport, Construction, Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, Culture, Sports and Tourism, Information and Communications, Natural Resources and Environment; and Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam also participated in answering questions and explaining related issues.
