On August 16, in Hanoi, the 13th Party Central Committee met to review and give opinions on personnel work.

The Party Central Committee has decided to introduce and give opinions for the Politburo to introduce personnel to complete the leadership of a number of state agencies for the 2021-2026 term according to regulations.

The Party Central Committee elected additional Politburo member Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Central Public Security, Minister of Public Security; elected additional members of the Secretariat 3 comrades including: Comrade Nguyen Duy Ngoc, member of the Party Central Committee, Chief of the Party Central Committee Office; Comrade Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Standing Committee of the Central Military Commission, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; Comrade Le Minh Tri, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Personnel Committee, Chief of the Supreme People's Procuracy .
