Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism: Duc Phuc's victory is a brilliant mark of foreign culture

Duc Phuc's victory not only closed a proud journey at Intervision 2025, but also opened a new door for Vietnamese artists to affirm their names internationally.

Exactly 10 years after being the Champion of The Voice, singer Duc Phuc excelled when representing Vietnam to win the Championship of an international music competition - Intervision Song Contest 2025 held at Live Arena, Moscow, Russia.

The prize for the Champion is worth 30 million rubles (equivalent to 360,000 USD, more than 9 billion VND). This is considered the largest prize in the history of Intervision, affirming the scale and prestige of the competition.

Sharing on the sidelines of the competition, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong said: “We have set clear and strict criteria when selecting artists to represent the country to participate in the Intervision 2025 International Music Competition. Accordingly, artists must have extensive experience performing on stage, suitable for the music genre of the competition; choose songs that capture international music trends, have the ability to create a strong ripple effect and possess impressive artistic achievements, and have an image that inspires the public, especially the youth. And singer Duc Phuc has fully met these criteria.”

According to the leader of the Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism , Duc Phuc's victory is not only a historic moment for contemporary Vietnamese music, but also a brilliant mark of Vietnamese cultural diplomacy. This success affirms the talent of Vietnamese artists, at the same time demonstrates the effectiveness of international cooperation, bringing Vietnamese music and identity closer to global audiences, contributing to the internationalization of Vietnamese culture.

With the song “Phu Dong Thien Vuong,” Duc Phuc brought the audience an impressive performance combining folk songs and rap, completely conquering the judges, bringing the male singer 422 points and the championship title.

During the competition night, Duc Phuc surpassed the Nomad Trio group from Kyrgyzstan (373 points) and singer Dana Al Meer from Qatar (369 points) to firmly step up to the highest position. This victory not only brought joy to Duc Phuc personally but also proved the creativity, bravery and strong integration of Vietnamese music in the international flow.

The song “Phu Dong Thien Vuong” was composed by musician Ho Hoai Anh, inspired by the poem “Vietnamese Bamboo” by poet Nguyen Duy. With a unique arrangement, combining folk elements with modern rap, the song carries a message of hidden strength, resilience and national pride.

Duc Phuc's performance made a strong impression thanks to the careful investment in music, stage design and costumes, both honoring traditional culture and creating closeness with international audiences.

Duc Phuc said he wanted to bring a story and a performance imbued with Vietnamese identity. Phu Dong Thien Vuong is a symbol of strength, resilience, and resilience of the Vietnamese people.
