According to this project, 13 expressways invested by the State will collect tolls: Bai Vot - Ham Nghi, Ham Nghi - Vung Ang, Vung Ang - Bung, Bung - Van Ninh, Van Ninh - Cam Lo, Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan, Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon, Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon, Quy Nhon - Chi Thanh, Chi Thanh - Van Phong, Van Phong - Nha Trang, Can Tho - Hau Giang , Hau Giang - Ca Mau.
All 13 expressways will collect tolls for 7 years from the date of commencement of operation. After this period, the management agency will calculate the next plan for infrastructure exploitation and management. The Vietnam Road Administration is assigned to organize toll collection. It is expected that after deducting the organization cost, the budget will collect nearly 2,500 billion VND each year from toll collection on 13 expressways.
The Ministry of Construction said that the country currently has 29 expressway sections directly managed by the State under the Ministry of Construction. Of these, 5 routes have had their infrastructure exploitation projects approved and are expected to start collecting tolls from January 2026.
Specifically, the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay expressway has a toll rate of VND 1,300/PCU/km, fully meeting the toll collection conditions of 4 lanes and a continuous emergency lane. The remaining routes include: Mai Son - National Highway 45, National Highway 45 - Nghi Son, Nghi Son - Dien Chau, Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet with a toll rate of VND 900/km, because they have not fully met the requirements stipulated in the Road Law (having 4 lanes and a non-continuous emergency lane).
