Ministry of Health proactively deploys response work to storm Ragasa

The Ministry of Health requested medical units to proactively respond to storm Ragasa, organize professional and emergency duty 24/7; be ready to receive and provide emergency care for victims caused by rain and floods; and not to interrupt emergency care and treatment for people.

On September 23, the Ministry of Health announced that Deputy Minister of Health Do Xuan Tuyen signed and issued a document to the Department of Health of provinces and cities in the Northern and Central regions; and units under the Ministry of Health in the Northern and Central regions on proactively deploying medical work to respond to storm Ragasa (storm No. 9).

Implementing the Prime Minister 's Official Dispatch No. 170/CD-TTg dated September 22, 2025 on proactively responding to super typhoon Ragasa; to proactively respond to typhoon Ragasa, the Ministry of Health requests the Departments of Health of provinces and cities in the Northern and Central regions; units under and directly under the Ministry of Health in the Northern and Central regions to strictly implement the directives of the Prime Minister, the National Steering Committee for Civil Defense and the Ministry of Health on proactively responding to storms and floods, ensuring safety for people with the most drastic spirit, early, from afar, proactively taking response measures at the highest level, anticipating the worst scenario.

Closely monitor the developments of storms, rain and flood situations on mass media; proactively review plans and solutions for storm and flood prevention and control and deploy storm and flood prevention and response work in accordance with natural disaster developments and practical requirements of localities and units.

The Ministry of Health emphasizes that in case of storms affecting the mainland, it is necessary to organize specialized and emergency services 24/7; be ready to receive and provide emergency care to victims caused by rain and floods; not to interrupt emergency care and treatment for people; ensure adequate supply of essential medicines for people, promptly replenish reserves of medicines, chemicals, and supplies for disaster prevention and search and rescue.

Deploy plans to protect medical facilities in areas at risk of being affected by floods; proactively evacuate and protect people and property in low-lying areas at risk of flooding, flash floods, landslides.

At the same time, continue to organize environmental sanitation, disease prevention, ensure clean water, food safety after storms and floods; arrange and stabilize medical examination and treatment facilities, ensure medical examination and treatment for people after floods.

Units also need to report on the damage situation, needs, local guarantee capacity and propose support when exceeding capacity, send to the Ministry of Health for synthesis, report to competent authorities for consideration and resolution.
