The Ministry of Health recommends 5 measures to prevent measles.
According to the Department of Disease Prevention (Ministry of Health), measles is the fastest-spreading infectious disease. It is transmitted through the air when infected individuals cough or sneeze, and transmission can only be stopped when community immunity reaches at least 95%. The disease can cause many dangerous complications such as otitis media, pneumonia, diarrhea, corneal ulceration, encephalitis, and can easily lead to death. There is no specific treatment for measles; vaccination is the most effective measure to prevent the disease.
