In their first appearance on the biggest stage of world volleyball, the Vietnamese girls wrote a small but emotional chapter.

The opening match against Poland – the world's third-ranked team – started with some brave play and ended in a 1-3 defeat, but what remained in the hearts of fans was an indomitable spirit and a desire to never give up.

Right from the first ball, when Lam Oanh kicked the ball to score a direct goal, the whole stadium exploded. It was not just a score, but a proud declaration: Vietnam did not come here to be an outsider.

And then, with each rhythmic combination, with the net-burning smashes of Vi Thi Nhu Quynh, the persistence of Tran Thi Thanh Thuy and Kieu Trinh on the attack, the students of coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet made Poland sweat in the first set.

The 25-23 victory is both a new page in history and a small gift for all the fans who have been waiting for the World Championship dream of Vietnamese volleyball.

In the following sets, the superior class and physique of the opponent made Vietnam gradually lose steam. But amazingly, the more difficult it was, the more the girls left behind moments that made the audience tear up.

Libero Khanh Dang was rolling around trying to save each ball close to the floor, his small hands seemed to hold onto hope for the whole team.

Then the strong strikes of Bich Thuy and Kieu Trinh, although blocked many times, still showed pride: " We are here, representing the Vietnamese spirit, and we fight until the last second " .

Set 4, when Vietnam led 6-1 then 7-3, the hearts of Vietnamese volleyball lovers felt like they were about to explode.

Even though they couldn't keep the advantage afterwards, every move, every smile, every fierce look from the girls was like a beautiful song about self-respect and faith.

Tomorrow, they may lose again when facing Germany (5:00 p.m. on August 25), maybe there will be no miracles in this 2025 World Volleyball Championship.

But just in the recent debut, when looking at the young girls standing proudly in front of the tall walls of Poland, fans saw something precious: the spirit of not retreating.

Who knows, from these drops of sweat, from these seemingly bitter losing sets, Vietnamese women's volleyball will write a brighter future.

It is not only sport , but also love, it is pride. The girls, although losing the match, still won in the hearts of Vietnamese people.
