Brazil will host the 2027 Women's World Cup.
On May 17, at the 74th FIFA Congress held in Bangkok (Thailand), Brazil officially won the right to host the 2027 Women's World Cup finals.
Brazil beat out Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands to win the bid to host the world's biggest women's football tournament. With the victory in the vote at the 74th FIFA Congress, Brazil will host the 2027 Women's World Cup for the first time. This will be the first time the Women's World Cup has been held in a South American country and is expected to continue the record success of the 2023 edition co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand.
Brazil becomes the eighth host country of the 2027 Women's World Cup after China (1991, 2007); Sweden (1995); USA (1999, 2003); Germany (2011); Canada (2015); France (2019); Australia and New Zealand (2023).
Also at the Congress, members approved the international competition schedule framework for women's football for the period 2026 - 2029. This is the result of a consultation process reinforced by extensive research and analysis in collaboration with federations and other stakeholders.
The fixture schedule adopted at the Games will provide more opportunities for rest and recovery for players, with the number of time slots for official national team tournaments/friendly matches reduced from 06 to 05, to reduce disruption to domestic competitions and reduce travel.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino said the women's international match calendar and subsequent amendments to the regulations mark a significant milestone in the commitment to take women's football to the next level, by enhancing competitiveness around the world, especially in regions where women's football is underdeveloped, and protecting the rights of players.
