After 10 years of persistent construction, Song Phuong commune (Hoai Duc district, Hanoi ) has become a bright spot in the advanced new rural movement. With a spacious appearance and increasingly improved people's lives, Song Phuong is rapidly progressing on the path to achieving model new rural standards, creating a proud mark.

Enhanced new rural appearance: "Bright - Green - Clean - Beautiful"

During the past 10 years, the government, organizations, unions and people of Song Phuong commune (Hoai Duc district) have made continuous efforts to improve the criteria for advanced new rural areas. In particular, movements such as "All people unite to build new rural areas, civilized urban areas", "Bright - Green - Clean - Beautiful" have contributed to completely changing the face of the countryside here.

The colorful flower roads, cool and clean green space have become the highlight in Song Phuong. The traffic system has been invested synchronously with 100% of the commune, inter-commune, village and inter-village roads with a length of 6.6km paved; intersections are equipped with signs, lights, and speed bumps to ensure safety. In particular, 17km of alley and hamlet roads and 17.5km of intra-field roads have been concreted and asphalted with a total cost of over 40 billion VND, of which the people contributed nearly 1.7 billion VND.

In addition, the drainage system in residential areas has been renovated and newly built, helping to reduce environmental pollution. Families and organizations in the commune also join hands to plant trees and flowers along the roads, on balconies and fences, creating a landscape that is both beautiful and close to nature.

In the first 10 months of 2024, Song Phuong Commune people contributed 1,844 working days and mobilized 182 million VND to decorate and buy flowers and ornamental plants. The whole commune painted more than 910 square meters of murals, painted 5,000 square meters of fences and electric poles, contributing to beautifying public spaces. Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Song Phuong Commune Le Manh Ha shared that every Saturday and Sunday morning, the villages organize cleaning, clearing trees and grass, taking care of the "blossoming dike", and cleaning self-managed roads.

Together to improve community life and culture

Along with infrastructure development, Song Phuong commune focuses on improving the material and spiritual life of the people. The commune's economy is shifting in the right direction with the structure of Trade - Services, Industry - Construction, Agriculture. The average annual economic growth rate is 11-12%, the average income per capita in 2024 is over 70 million VND and is expected to reach 88 million VND in 2025.

Cultural and sports movements have also been promoted, creating an exciting and cohesive atmosphere in the community. The commune's central cultural house and 100% of the village cultural houses have been built spaciously and fully equipped. At playgrounds such as the X2 service land or the village cultural house yard, people have contributed to installing 21 outdoor sports equipment, creating a space for health training.

Efforts to build new rural areas are also demonstrated through the movements "Green Saturday - Sunday", "Keeping villages bright, green, clean, beautiful and safe", and the establishment of environmental protection clubs such as "Youth protecting the environment".

In addition, the commune's education and health system has also been heavily invested. Schools in the area meet national standards level 1, and are planned to expand to meet the increasing learning needs. The commune's health station has been newly built, meeting national standards, with modern equipment, ensuring primary health care for the people.

Towards a model new countryside

After completing 19/19 advanced new rural criteria, Song Phuong commune continues to set higher goals, aiming to build a model new rural commune and complete the ward criteria by 2025.

According to Chairman of Song Phuong Commune People's Committee Do Van Toan, to realize this goal, the commune will focus on socio-economic development towards urbanization, increasing income and improving the quality of life for people. Specific solutions include: maintaining an economic growth rate of 11-12%/year; ensuring 100% of villages achieve the title of "Cultural Village"; not allowing the emergence of poor and near-poor households.

With the support from the district budget and the consensus of the people, the commune has achieved important achievements, changing the face of the countryside and improving the lives of residents. Song Phuong's journey to build an advanced new countryside is not only a symbol of development but also a testament to the spirit of solidarity and creativity of the Party, government and people. With a solid foundation built over the past 10 years, Song Phuong is confidently moving forward on the path to becoming a model commune, contributing to affirming the position of Hoai Duc district in the overall development of the capital.
