As night falls, the village's internal roads are illuminated by a solar-powered lighting system, making nighttime travel and activities more convenient for residents. Leading us on a tour of the solar power project, Mr. Lo Van Dinh, Head of the Village Front Committee, explained: "The village has 129 households and over 600 residents. Previously, nighttime travel was very difficult. Responding to the campaign launched by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune, organizations, businesses, and officials donated over 33 million VND to purchase a solar-powered lighting system. The villagers contributed nearly 20 million VND, including labor and the cost of purchasing poles, to complete the installation of 42 solar-powered streetlights along the village's internal roads. Now, electricity illuminates every alley and hamlet, bringing joy to the people as it makes travel more convenient and safer, contributing to maintaining security and order in the area."
In the remote village of Pá Mẳn, facing challenging conditions, the village prioritizes the installation of solar-powered lights at bends, intersections, and traffic "black spots," maximizing the effectiveness of the lighting system and ensuring the safety of residents when traveling at night. Mr. Lò Văn Nghiện, Party Secretary and Head of Pá Mẳn village, shared: "Through two rounds of support, the village received 21 light bulbs from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune. The village management board mobilized the people to contribute labor to prioritize installing the lights in critical locations first. Since having electricity, everyone feels safer when traveling at night."

These are just two rural lighting projects using solar energy that were recently inaugurated in the villages of Huoi Mot commune, contributing to the "Bright - Green - Clean - Beautiful" criteria in the new rural development program. Through two fundraising campaigns, from the end of 2025 to the present, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune has received over 230 million VND in cash and 15 solar streetlights. Using these funds, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune has purchased materials and distributed 330 solar streetlights to 20 villages, prioritizing those with high population density, complex terrain, and difficult access.
Mr. Lo Van Linh, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Huoi Mot commune, said: The Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Huoi Mot commune has established a working group to directly monitor the grassroots level and organize mobilization and support for villages to install solar-powered streetlights. Depending on the actual conditions, the villages have proactively mobilized people to contribute labor and support the installation of power poles to suit the capabilities and terrain of each area. In the coming time, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune will continue to mobilize resources to support all villages in installing solar-powered streetlights, helping people travel conveniently, ensuring traffic safety and security at night, and contributing to the completion of the new rural development criteria of the locality.
The brightly lit roads in Huoi Mot commune today are the result of the concerted efforts of the local government and people. The completed "Lighting Up Rural Roads" project has contributed to transforming the rural infrastructure, fulfilling the criteria for achieving a "Bright - Green - Clean - Beautiful" new rural area, and propelling Huoi Mot forward on its journey towards building a "Bright - Green - Clean - Beautiful" new rural area.
