Ca Mau launches project to teach 2 sessions/day, organize boarding schools and invest in schools

On the morning of September 5, the Provincial People's Committee held a launching ceremony for the implementation of the Project on teaching 2 sessions/day, boarding, investing in clean drinking water systems and toilets at public kindergartens and primary schools, with a total budget of more than 1,100 billion VND. Attending the ceremony were Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Ho Hai; Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Luan.

Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Ho Hai presented a Certificate of Merit from the Provincial People's Committee Chairman to a representative of Sacombank .

The project to organize 2 sessions/day, semi-boarding for public preschool and general education levels in the province was approved by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee in Decision No. 0797/QD-UBND dated August 29, 2025, including the following items: Construction of classrooms, semi-boarding rooms, dining halls, restrooms and equipment procurement, with a total cost of more than 942 billion VND.

The project to build new and repair toilets in public schools in the province by 2027 was approved by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee in Decision No. 1209/QD-UBND dated June 23, 2025 and additionally approved in Decision No. 0796/QD-UBND dated August 29, 2025 with a total of 839 toilets; of which, 188 will be newly built and 651 will be repaired, with a total cost of more than 179 billion VND.

Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Ho Hai awarded scholarships to students.

In addition to the above projects, the province has many other important projects related to the field of education and training such as: Project on developing the team of teachers and educational managers; Project on purchasing equipment to meet the requirements of the General Education Program; Project on arranging and developing the school network.

In addition, the province has spent nearly 30 billion VND to address urgent needs in building and repairing schools to ensure timely service for the opening of the 2025-2026 school year.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Luan emphasized: After the opening day of the school year, the Provincial People's Committee will work with the Department of Education and Training to disseminate to localities and educational institutions so that Party committees, authorities, especially the Department of Education and Training, can see the importance and significance of implementing the Project of teaching 2 sessions/day, organizing boarding schools, investing in clean drinking water systems and toilets for public kindergartens and general schools in the province in the current period.

According to Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Luan, in addition to State resources, we will promote the mobilization of social resources, businesses, and economic sectors to participate, especially mobilizing parents with conditions to support the effective implementation of these projects.

On this occasion, Saigon Thuong Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Sacombank) donated 10 billion VND to invest in clean drinking water systems and toilets for public kindergartens and primary schools in the province.

To recognize and commend the practical contributions of the sponsoring unit to the investment in clean drinking water systems and toilets for public kindergartens and primary schools in the province, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 01 collective and 01 individual.

At the ceremony, Vo Van Kiet Scholarship Fund awarded 20 scholarships to students from poor households, near-poor households, and families in difficult circumstances; each scholarship is worth 1 million VND.
