The European - Vietnamese Documentary Film Festival is coordinated by the Wallonie-Bruxelles Delegation (Kingdom of Belgium) in Vietnam, in collaboration with the Central Documentary and Scientific Film Studio in Hanoi; D Ciné Ben Thanh Theater, Ho Chi Minh City is the coordinating organization in the South.

The European - Vietnamese Documentary Film Festival is one of the annual cultural exchange events between EU member countries and Vietnam. After 15 seasons, the European - Vietnamese Documentary Film Festival has become a familiar cultural meeting place, where filmmakers and audiences meet, share and look back at the world through a realistic lens. Not only does it introduce documentary cinema, the event also contributes to promoting exchanges, enhancing understanding and connection between Vietnam and European countries.
Sharing at the press conference, Deputy General Director of the Central Documentary and Scientific Film Studio Trinh Quang Tung said: This year's film festival brings many multi-dimensional perspectives on the life, culture and society of countries in a multi-dimensional and emotional world. This is also an activity to promote cultural exchange between countries and Vietnam, an opportunity for audiences to learn about the country, people and culture of other countries through documentary films.
This film festival brings together 18 documentaries, including 7 from European countries: Austria, Wallonie-Bruxelles (Belgium), Italy, Spain, Sweden, Israel and the UK; 7 produced by the Central Documentary and Scientific Film Studio and 4 films by independent authors.

7 films produced by the Central Documentary and Scientific Film Studio include: "Journey of Love", director Le Anh Tuan; "Whose Dream", director Do Thi Huyen Trang; "The Champion's Will", director Nguyen Tien Dung; "Nghê - the Vietnamese mascot", director Dao Duc Thanh; "The Wooden Man - a Miracle of the People's Heart", director Nguyen Duc Ngoc; "Do Not Surrender to Fate", director Hoang Ha Le; "The Contractor Nam USOM", director Trinh Quang Tung... Each film clearly demonstrates the spirit of community solidarity, affirming the nation's inner strength.
In particular, a new highlight of this year's festival season is 4 works by independent directors, with a youthful breath and diverse in expression, including: "Brilliant Horizon", director Lan Nguyen; "Monsoon Wind Returns", director Le Thi Tham; "Toan Oi", director Nguyen Ho Bao Nghi; "Letter to Mother", director Ha Le Diem.
In addition to domestic works, audiences also have the opportunity to enjoy international documentaries with diverse themes and styles such as: "Strange Birds", "La Roja - Journey to the World's Throne", "The Grand Museum", "Steel in the Veins", "Paper Mâché: Fano Carnival"...

These films not only bring viewers closer to the social and cultural life of each country, but also affirm the power of documentary cinema in creating dialogue, connecting communities and promoting mutual understanding.
According to Mr. Pierre du Ville, Head of the Wallonie-Bruxelles Delegation (Belgium) in Vietnam, this year's works have been carefully selected, bringing inspirational stories to the audience. "The audience will discover stories about ordinary people who are facing sometimes quite serious problems, thereby demonstrating their resilience in the face of challenges. At the same time, the audience will also witness slices of life, which can evoke many emotions, thoughts and become a source of inspiration and hope," said Mr. Pierre du Ville.

Film screenings will take place at 7pm every day, from September 12-18 at the Central Documentary and Scientific Film Studio (465 Hoang Hoa Tham, Hanoi) and DCine Ben Thanh cinema (6 Mac Dinh Chi, Ho Chi Minh City).
All admission tickets are free, opening up opportunities for a wide audience to access documentary films that rarely appear on the big screen../.
