Ca Mau agrees on strategic cooperation with VNPT on digital transformation

On the afternoon of September 11, at the People's Committee building of Ca Mau province, the Provincial People's Committee and Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) signed a strategic cooperation agreement on digital transformation for the period 2025-2030, with a vision to 2035.

The above move by the People's Committee of Ca Mau province aims to resolutely and effectively implement Resolution 57 of the Politburo , aiming to build digital government, develop digital economy, digital society and expand the application of digital technology in key areas, contributing to improving competitiveness and promoting sustainable development in Ca Mau.

Representatives of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province and VNPT participated in the signing of cooperation on digital transformation in the late afternoon of September 11.

According to the signed memorandum, the cooperation content is implemented uniformly and smoothly from the People's Committee of Ca Mau province and VNPT to all levels, sectors and member units in accordance with the organizational model of each party.

The two sides create favorable conditions for each other in surveying, proposing and organizing the implementation of the contents of the cooperation agreement.

Within the legal framework and the capabilities and resources of both parties, the People's Committee of Ca Mau province creates conditions for VNPT to introduce products and services and participate in implementing telecommunications application solutions, digital infrastructure, digital transformation, and communications suitable to the needs of agencies, units, and localities, serving the task of building smart cities, developing digital government, digital economy, and digital society in the locality.

At the same time, the two sides provide and exchange information promptly and regularly on issues related to cooperation content to contribute to improving the effectiveness of cooperation activities; promote 4 contents: Cooperation in developing infrastructure, the foundation for digital transformation; Cooperation in developing digital government; Cooperation in developing digital economy and Cooperation in developing digital society.

According to Mr. To Dung Thai, Chairman of the Board of Members of VNPT Group, this signing ceremony is not only a long-term commitment between the two sides, but also the starting point for many important programs and projects, creating a breakthrough in building Ca Mau province into a smart city, a development center of the Mekong Delta region.

“We are committed and ready in terms of resources, human resources… to join hands with the Ca Mau provincial government to successfully implement digital transformation,” Mr. Dung affirmed.

At the signing ceremony, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province Nguyen Minh Luan said that in recent years, Ca Mau is one of the localities with many efforts in applying information technology, building e-government, moving towards digital government, contributing to improving the quality of service for people and businesses.

Accompanying the above journey are significant contributions from telecommunications corporations, including VNPT, in providing infrastructure, platforms and digital solutions nationwide.

To effectively implement the signed agreements, Mr. Nguyen Minh Luan pointed out some difficulties and limitations of Ca Mau province in terms of telecommunications infrastructure, the level and adaptability of the social community to digital platform applications, security systems, etc., so that VNPT would pay attention to supporting the province to "heal" the gaps.

The final result is measured through the contribution to the province's growth. Therefore, the requirement from Ca Mau is to have specific measurable products, to do it quickly and to ensure quality, comrade Nguyen Minh Luan expressed his wish.
