1. Recognizing the importance of digital transformation and the benefits that digital transformation brings, in recent times, the Electricity Business Management Joint Stock Company (under Thanh Hoa Electricity Construction Joint Stock Company) has identified the application of science and technology, digital transformation as one of the key tasks, creating an important breakthrough to help the enterprise continuously develop. Mr. Nguyen Duc Giap, Deputy Director of the Electricity Business Management Joint Stock Company, commented: “The application of science and technology, digital transformation is an inevitable trend, an objective requirement, a strategic choice, and a top priority for rapid and sustainable development. For enterprises, the benefits that digital transformation brings are enormous. This is the process of overall, comprehensive change of enterprises in terms of strategy, governance, culture...”.
From 2018 to present, one of the outstanding digital transformation marks of the Electricity Management and Trading Joint Stock Company is the digitization of all customer information, creating a strong change in information management and resource exploitation activities, improving business efficiency. The company has built a new customer management software (CCIS) with each customer identified by a unique code, determined by a pole position on the grid. This demonstrates the great efforts and determination of the enterprise and has in fact brought about great efficiency, becoming an important foundation for the enterprise to continue applying science and technology, digital transformation in the following fields.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Giap said: “Every business is always burdened with information, including internal information, customers, and partners. Along with that, the company has applied new invoice calculation software, integrating many modern features such as: Support for automatic connection, sending information about electronic invoices to tax authorities after each meter reading period; support for data reconciliation when issuing invoices to help limit errors compared to manual methods... With a customer data warehouse and a digitized power grid system, it helps improve efficiency in calculating the construction of new transformer stations as well as designing low-voltage power grids accurately and effectively.
Thanks to the strong promotion of the application of science and technology, the company's electricity management and business activities in recent years have achieved remarkable results. Currently, the company is managing and retailing electricity in 117 communes, wards and towns of 13 districts, towns and cities with about 200,000 customers, ensuring safe, continuous and stable electricity supply, reducing the rate of electricity loss; making an important contribution to the successful implementation of socio -economic development goals, well serving the production, consumption and living needs of the people, meeting the local socio-economic development goals.
In the coming time, the company will continue to further promote the application of science and technology, digital transformation, focusing on improving business services and enhancing customer experience. Accordingly, the company will deploy a customer care application on smartphones; allowing customers to look up information online (monthly electricity bills; electricity consumption; sending text messages notifying utility bills...); register to buy electricity remotely, sign electricity purchase contracts with digital signatures; collect electricity bills without cash; link with banks to support customers to pay electricity bills by bank transfer; automatically clear debts every time customers have paid their electricity bills; automatically set up debt reports; continue to replace electricity meters with remote electronic meters and record electricity numbers by remote reading...
2. Trung Thanh Agricultural Products Processing Joint Stock Company is known as one of the enterprises operating effectively in the field of processing and exporting agricultural products with its main product being canned pineapple.
Aiming to increase the value of Vietnamese agricultural products, bringing the Vietnamese agricultural product brand to the international market, in addition to strictly controlling the input materials, the company has maximized its resources and experience after many years of processing, focusing on investing in modern machinery and equipment; training, improving the qualifications and skills of staff and workers; constantly improving and upgrading the production process... This is the key factor that creates the brand and quality, the "key" to open the door to "exporting" for the company's products to be present in many demanding markets around the world such as: Russia, Hong Kong, Israel, Korea... On average, the company produces and exports about 8 thousand tons of agricultural products of all kinds every year, including 5 to 6 thousand tons of canned pineapple. In 2024, the company's revenue will reach more than 400 billion VND.
3. Currently, Thanh Hoa has more than 21,350 small and medium-sized enterprises in operation, mainly private enterprises. Many of them have successfully applied the digital transformation model, digital platform, and application of science and technology, thereby improving production and business efficiency and competitiveness. Digital transformation helps enterprises change technology, transforming from traditional business models to smarter and more sustainable production and business models. It is known that since the beginning of the year, VCCI Thanh Hoa - Ninh Binh branch has organized about 20 classes on AI and ChatGPT applications in enterprises. Each class attracts 50 - 60 students, mainly leaders and key staff at enterprises. Some enterprises arrange for leaders, staff and employees to attend the course together. "Just a few examples like that show that enterprises are always proactive, ready to innovate, learn new things to keep up with the pace, determined not to fall behind in the wave of digital transformation and science and technology" - Mr. Hieu shared.
In addition to the achieved results, the application of science and technology and digital transformation in enterprises in general and private enterprises in particular faces many difficulties and challenges such as: Resources for developing digital infrastructure, human resources to meet digital transformation requirements; awareness of a part of enterprises and enterprise leaders about science and technology and digital transformation is not uniform, timely and comprehensive". Mr. Do Dinh Hieu emphasized: "The stronger digital transformation is, the more attention and focus must be paid to information security and safety in cyberspace, especially issues related to protecting brands, corporate reputation, identifying reliable platforms and applications to avoid risk factors, fraud...".
The development of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation is a decisive factor in the development of countries; it is a prerequisite and the best opportunity for our country to develop richly and strongly in the new era - the era of national development. Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in the development of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation of the country clearly defines: The main subjects, resources and driving forces are the people and enterprises; scientists are the key factor; the State plays the leading, promoting and creating the most favorable conditions.
Therefore, more than anyone else, the business sector in general and private enterprises in particular need to be proactive, active, and invest more in developing science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation to improve production and business efficiency, worthy of being the most important driving force of the national economy, a pioneering force to promote growth, create jobs, improve labor productivity, national competitiveness, industrialization, modernization, and restructuring the economy towards green, circularity...
