On March 26th, a reporter from Giao Thong Newspaper was present at the Dien Chau - Bai Vot expressway construction project, specifically the section from the beginning of the route (intersecting with National Highway 7A) to the intersection with National Highway 46B.
The intersection with National Highway 7A (located in Dien Cat commune, Dien Chau district) is the starting point of the project.
Reports indicate that thousands of workers and machinery are racing against time to complete this section of the route by April 30th, as directed by the Prime Minister .
Alongside accelerating the construction of the main route, contractors are also mobilizing manpower and machinery to complete auxiliary items, traffic safety systems, access roads, and interchanges so that they can serve the public as soon as the road opens.
According to the design, the Dien Chau – Bai Vot expressway project has a total length of 49.3km, including 4 interchanges. Of these, the section through Nghe An province (44.4km) has 3 interchanges, while the section in Ha Tinh province (4.9km) has 1 interchange, which is the end point of the project.
National Highway 7C intersection (located in Nghi Dong commune, Nghi Loc district)
The first on/off ramp is the starting point of the project, intersecting with National Highway 7A (which is the end point of the Nghi Son – Dien Chau project that was previously put into operation, located in Dien Cat commune, Dien Chau district).
At this intersection, people traveling east on National Highway 7A will reach the administrative center of Dien Chau district, Nghe An province.
In addition, people can also go to Tho Loc industrial zone; tourist beaches such as Dien Thanh, Cua Hien, Bai Lu…
Conversely, traveling west along National Highway 7A will lead to the districts of Yen Thanh, Do Luong, Anh Son, Con Cuong, Tuong Duong, Ky Son, and possibly to neighboring Laos via the Nam Can international border gate in Ky Son district.
The intersection of National Highway 46B (located in Hung Tay commune, Hung Nguyen district) leads to Vinh City and to President Ho Chi Minh's birthplace (Nam Dan).
The next on/off ramp intersects with National Highway 7C (Road N5, located in Nghi Dong commune, Nghi Loc district).
At this intersection, people traveling east on National Highway 7C will reach the administrative center of Nghi Loc district; industrial zones such as WHA and Nam Cam; the Vissai Nghi Thiet international deep-water port; and the DKC oil and gas storage and port.
Heading west will lead to the districts of Do Luong, Tan Ky, and the western districts of Nghe An province.
The on/off ramp that passes through Nghe An province intersects with National Highway 46B (in Hung Tay commune, Hung Nguyen district).
This interchange is located right in the VSIP industrial park. Further east will lead to Vinh City and the headquarters of the Nghe An provincial government. Alternatively, you can follow National Highway 46A to the port and Cua Lo beach.
Three interchanges for the Dien Chau - Bai Vot expressway project, the section passing through Nghe An province.
Heading west will take you to the birthplace of President Ho Chi Minh (Nam Dan district) and Thanh Chuong district. From there, you can go to Thanh Thuy Border Gate (Thanh Chuong district) or follow the Ho Chi Minh Highway to Ha Tinh and then south to Cau Treo International Border Gate (Huong Son district, Ha Tinh).
The project is implemented under the PPP model by a consortium of investors including Hoa Hiep Company Limited, CIENCO4 Group Joint Stock Company, Nui Hong Investment Company Limited, Truong Son Construction Corporation, and VINA2 Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company; the project enterprise is Phuc Thanh Hung Investment Joint Stock Company.
According to the Prime Minister's directive, the section from the beginning of the route (National Highway 7A) to the intersection with National Highway 46B must be completed by April 30, 2024.
