The University of Science , Ho Chi Minh City National University announced the quality assurance threshold of the method based on the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam with scores ranging from 16 to 24 points for a combination of 3 subjects, depending on each major.
With the method based on the results of the Ho Chi Minh City National University's 2025 competency assessment exam, the admission score ranges from 600 to 850 points.
The majors with the highest admission scores are Semiconductor Technology and Microchip Design, at 24 and 850 points respectively in the two admission methods above. In these two majors, in addition to the total score requirement, with the admission method based on graduation exam scores, candidates must have a Math score in the admission combination of 8 points or higher; with the admission method based on competency assessment test scores, candidates must have an average Math score of three years of high school of 8 points or higher.
The school said that the quality assurance threshold for these two majors is implemented according to Decision 1314/QD-BGDDT dated May 13, 2025 of the Ministry of Education and Training on training program standards on semiconductor microcircuits at university and master's levels.
CMC University also announced the minimum admission score according to 3 methods. With the admission method based on graduation exam scores, the minimum score is from 21 to 24 points depending on the major. With the admission method based on academic records, the minimum score is slightly higher, from 23 to 26 points, depending on the major. The calculation of scores according to both methods is on a 40-point scale, including the total score of Math (or Literature, depending on the major) multiplied by a coefficient of two and the score of any two subjects.
With the admission method of evaluating the capacity test scores organized by CMC University, the score is calculated on a scale of 80, the floor score is from 35 to 48 points.
In all three methods, the Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering Technology (Semiconductor Circuit Design) major has the highest floor score at CMC University in 2025.
CMC University also expects this year's benchmark scores to drop slightly compared to previous years due to the drop in graduation exam scores this year. The university also said it will implement a program to give laptops to new students.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance announced the minimum score for admission based on graduation exam results is 15 points for all training majors, a decrease of 1 to 4 points depending on each training major compared to 2024.
With the admission method of considering grade 12 transcripts according to a combination of 3 subjects and considering the average score of the entire grade 12 transcript, the score for receiving application documents is 18 points. With the admission method based on the results of the Ho Chi Minh City National University's Competency Assessment Exam, the school has a score for receiving application documents of 600/1,200 points, and the V-SAT exam is 225/450 points.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance also announced that it will continue to accept applications for high school transcripts until July 28.
Schools also note that the admission threshold is the minimum score required for candidates to submit their application. The schools will take the admission scores from highest to lowest until the quota is met./.
