Currently, Cai Chien commune has over 30 accommodation establishments with approximately 280 rooms. In 2026, many new establishments will continue to be invested in and put into operation, basically meeting the accommodation needs of tourists during the peak summer season. Many households are proactively renovating their houses to develop homestays, guesthouses, restaurants, and experiential services related to the sea and islands. This model not only contributes to diversifying tourism products but also creates stable livelihoods, increases income for local people, and helps preserve the unique cultural characteristics of the coastal residents.
Mr. Ha Huu Manh (owner of Tung Duong homestay) shared: "In recent years, the number of tourists visiting Cai Chien has increased significantly, especially during the summer and weekends when rooms are often fully booked. Recognizing the potential for tourism development in the area, my family has boldly invested in expanding the homestay to nearly 20 rooms, capable of accommodating about 80 guests at once. Besides upgrading facilities, I focus on improving service quality and creating a welcoming, clean, and beautiful space so that tourists can have a comfortable experience when visiting Cai Chien."
To prepare for this summer's peak tourist season, Cai Chien commune is focusing on upgrading transportation infrastructure, improving the environmental landscape, and enhancing the quality of tourism services. Inland island roads continue to be invested in and improved; digital infrastructure systems, such as free Wi-Fi at tourist spots and digital maps for tourists, are also being implemented to gradually form a smart tourism ecosystem. Simultaneously, the locality prioritizes ensuring a civilized and safe tourism environment by strengthening inspections of price listings and service quality at accommodation establishments and restaurants; and ensuring security and safety for tourists throughout the peak season.

In particular, to open up opportunities to promote the destination's image, in mid-April, Cai Chien island commune welcomed a famtrip delegation of approximately 40 travel businesses to survey, experience, and assess the potential for local tourism development. The famtrip delegation directly experienced the services at Dau Rong Resort - one of the outstanding large-scale and high-quality accommodation facilities on the island. Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, General Director of Vitamin Tours & Event Company, said: "I highly appreciate the tranquil, nature-friendly yet modern resort atmosphere here. The service quality is good, and the fresh food meets the requirements of high-end guests. This is considered one of the advantages that helps Cai Chien create its own unique mark among many current island destinations. Activities such as night squid fishing, collecting shellfish, and fishing offer a genuine and close-to-life experience with the coastal residents, meeting the growing trend of experiential and eco-tourism favored by tourists."
In July of this year, the locality plans to organize the art program "Cai Chien Welcomes Summer 2026" with the theme "Waves Calling Summer - Cai Chien Explosion," aiming to spread the image of the island commune's nature, people, and unique tourism products to a wide range of tourists and investors. In particular, the participation of famous artists and a media campaign on digital platforms and social networks are expected to create a strong ripple effect.

According to Mr. Dong Manh Hung, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Cai Chien commune, the development orientation for the period 2025-2030 identifies the development of tourism in a green and sustainable direction, linked with the preservation and promotion of traditional cultural values, while ensuring national defense, security, and social order and safety in the area. The locality aims to build Cai Chien into an attractive destination in Quang Ninh province, with its own brand and high competitiveness; effectively connecting with tourist routes and destinations in the province and the region. The focus is on developing diverse types of tourism such as beach and island tourism, ecotourism, community tourism, resort tourism, and cultural experiences.
In 2026, the commune aims to welcome 173,600 tourists, including approximately 150,000 overnight visitors; total revenue from tourism activities is expected to reach around 347 billion VND. To realize this goal, the commune is developing various solutions, from attracting investment in high-quality tourism projects to strengthening links with travel agencies, organizing famtrip programs for journalists, bloggers, and KOLs to promote the destination's image. In particular, the locality is strengthening connections with Hai Ha Industrial Park, Texhong Industrial Park, and businesses in the area to develop weekend sightseeing and relaxation programs for officials, workers, and employees. This is considered a potential market, contributing to creating a stable source of tourists for Cai Chien tourism.
In addition, the commune continues to maintain and improve the quality of existing products such as beach bathing, ecotourism, homestay experiences, and enjoying local seafood; while also developing new products such as water sports, forest tourism, exploring the island by electric vehicle, or educational tours for students to learn about the marine ecosystem and environmental protection. Notably, Cai Chien is implementing the "Green Tourism - No Plastic Waste" program, encouraging accommodation establishments and homestays to adopt sustainable tourism standards to build an image of an environmentally friendly destination.
With proactive product development, improved service quality, enhanced promotion, and a focus on green and sustainable development, Cai Chien is gradually asserting its unique appeal as a coastal and island destination with significant potential for growth.
