In the spring crop of 2023, Cam Xuyen district planted more than 9,500 hectares of rice, reaching 99.8% of the plan. Thanks to favorable weather and the strong leadership of the entire political system, Cam Xuyen had a good spring crop this year. According to the assessment, the spring rice yield of the whole district is estimated at 61.8 quintals/ha, exceeding the plan by 5.6%, 3.6 quintals/ha higher than the same period last year; the expected output is estimated at 59,018 tons, exceeding the plan by 5.4%. This is the highest yield and output ever in Cam Xuyen district.

At this time, local authorities are focusing on directing farmers to harvest spring rice. As of the morning of May 17, the entire district has harvested 500 hectares, reaching a rate of 5.3%. Cam Xuyen plans to concentrate on harvesting from May 19 to 27, striving to complete the harvest before May 30.
In the spring crop of 2023, Cam Xuyen district will pilot the ST25 organic rice production model on a scale of 15 hectares in Dong Nam Ly village and Binh Quang village, Cam Binh commune. This is a model that applies organic microbial fertilizers and adds microbial preparations during soil preparation, helping the microorganisms in the soil to thrive, helping the rice plants grow better. |

According to the assessment of the Center for Application of Science and Technology and Protection of Plants and Livestock of Cam Xuyen district, the productivity of the organic rice production model (ST25 variety) is expected to reach 5.4 tons/ha; in about 5 days (May 22), the harvest will begin.
Initially, the organic production of ST25 rice showed advantages in product quality, weather and pest resistance compared to traditional production; reducing negative impacts on the environment and people's health. It is expected that the economic benefits from applying the organic production process of ST25 rice will be twice as profitable as traditional production.
