The first time I met General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong was at the 8th National Congress of the Vietnam Farmers’ Union , term 2023-2028, more than a year ago. I will never forget the image of the close and simple leader.

When he entered the hall, everyone stood up and applauded with respect and pride for the peasant class. Before the congress began, the General Secretary shook hands with each leader of the farmers' association at all levels. Although the General Secretary's health was not good at that time, he still spent more than 40 minutes standing on the podium to speak, talk, and direct farmers' associations at all levels at the National Congress of the Vietnam Farmers' Association .

From the profound instructions and orientations of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to the peasant class, with feelings of love and respect, I myself always remember and promise to engrave those teachings, consider them as a guideline for all my activities and actions, together with the collective of farmers' associations at all levels in Kien Giang province, strive, uphold our role and responsibility, and devote all our efforts to serving the peasant class as the General Secretary once advised:

Together with farmers' associations at all levels, continue to innovate more strongly the content and methods, improve the quality and effectiveness of the association's activities; build the Vietnam Farmers' Association increasingly strong, truly an organization representing the legitimate and legal rights and interests of farmers; promote well the role as the center and core of the farmers' movement, a bridge between farmers and the Party and the State; and be an active factor in the great national unity bloc, the "workers - farmers - intellectuals" alliance.

According to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, the innovation of the content and methods of operation of the association must meet the requirements of improving the qualifications, material and spiritual life of farmers and the development of the country; promoting the role of farmers as the subject and center in developing agriculture, rural economy and building new rural areas.

Like the officers and soldiers of the armed forces of my home province, I felt my heart tighten when I read the sad news of the passing of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. I felt as if I had just lost a dear grandfather, close to my family.

During his lifetime, the beloved General Secretary always had special close, warm, and profound feelings for the army officers and soldiers, militia and self-defense forces nationwide, and had strategic instructions that contributed significantly to the cause of building the army, consolidating national defense, and firmly protecting the Fatherland.

With his intelligence, strategic vision, sharp and astute thinking, the General Secretary has made great contributions to the building and directing the successful implementation of the strategy to protect the Fatherland in the new situation and the Party's policies and guidelines, and the State's legal system in the military and national defense fields.

Deeply mourning the passing of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, I am determined to turn my noble sentiments for the beloved General Secretary into concrete actions; absolutely trust in the leadership of the Party, the management and administration of the State. Following the example of the General Secretary and overcoming all difficulties, making efforts and striving to carry out his advice to officers and soldiers in the army in the spirit of "7 dares": "Dare to think, dare to speak, dare to do, dare to take responsibility, dare to innovate, be creative, dare to face difficulties and challenges, and dare to act for the common good".
