(KGO) - Travel + Leisure magazine has just announced a list of the best destinations in 2025; in which, Phu Quoc Island is in the top 3 most beautiful islands in the Asia - Pacific region.

On June 23, the Department of Tourism of Kien Giang province announced that at the Luxury Awards Asia Pacific, the world's leading prestigious travel magazine Travel + Leisure announced a list of the 10 most beautiful islands in the Asia- Pacific region.

Among them, Phu Quoc pearl island, which is also the only representative of Vietnam, ranked 3rd, after Bali (Indonesia) and Koh Samui (Thailand). The other islands ranked after that are Palawan (Philippines), Phuket (Thailand), Langkawi (Malaysia), Sri Lanka, Sumba and Penang (Malaysia), Siargao (Philippines).

Travel + Leisure said Phu Quoc is famous for its beautiful beaches such as Bai Kem and Bai Sao with creamy white sand, mild nature, calm sea and clear water.

In addition to its natural landscape, Phu Quoc is also considered one of the most attractive destinations in Vietnam due to its many iconic entertainment ecosystems, interesting cultural and historical experiences, and diverse resort options from budget to luxury.

The Luxury Awards Asia Pacific 2025 are announced annually by Travel + Leisure. The awards are voted on by millions of global readers with a wealth of experience and a taste for luxury travel ; focusing on emerging luxury destinations in the fastest-growing tourism region in the world, with particularly rigorous judging criteria.

Specifically, destinations must meet luxury standards from service quality, resort - entertainment ecosystem, to brand imprint and the ability to create personalized experiences...

It is known that in early 2025, Forbes magazine also introduced Phu Quoc in the topic " Discovering 6 most luxurious yet remote destinations in 2025".

Here, Forbes praises Phu Quoc for its seemingly endless coastline, inviting white sand beaches, and breathtakingly clear waters. “The island also boasts one of the most spectacular sunsets in Southeast Asia,” Forbes notes.

According to the Department of Tourism of Kien Giang province, in the first 6 months of 2025, Phu Quoc welcomed over 4.4 million tourists (up 33.3% over the same period, reaching 61.1% of the 2025 plan); of which, international visitors were nearly 882 thousand (up 76.7% over the same period, reaching 75% of the 2025 plan). Total revenue from tourism activities was about 21,588 billion VND (up 92.6% over the same period, reaching 91.9% of the 2025 plan). Currently, Phu Quoc is focusing on investing in the construction of a series of key projects to serve the APEC 2027 event...
