Exciting opening of the weekly horse racing tournament at Bac Ha White Plateau

On the afternoon of November 15, at Bac Ha Commune Stadium, the Commune People's Committee held the Opening Ceremony of the weekly horse racing tournament and launched the Bac Ha Horse Club. Attending the event were leaders of the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune, along with a large number of local people and tourists.

The highlight of the program was the horse racing parade, combined with the stick dance performed by 500 students, creating a colorful artistic space.

At the ceremony, the People's Committee of Bac Ha commune announced the decision to establish and officially launched the Bac Ha Horse Club.

Immediately after that, 35 jockeys entered the dramatic and exciting qualifying rounds, attracting enthusiastic cheers from the audience.

The tournament's funding is mobilized from the Bac Ha Culture and Tourism Conservation and Development Fund and other socialized sources. All these resources are invested in the organization, promotion, awarding and long-term maintenance of the Bac Ha Horse Club.

Dramatic competitions

In the first three weeks of November 2025, the qualifying rounds will take place with 24-30 riders, divided into 8 races. Each race will consist of 3 riders, competing at a distance of 1,900 meters (equivalent to 4 laps of the field), the riders with the best results will advance to the next round. The last week of November will take place with rounds 24, 16 and the final with 4 riders competing to determine the first, second, third and fourth places with each race at a distance of 1,900 meters.

The organization of weekly horse racing and the club launching ceremony is considered an important step in preserving traditional cultural values. At the same time, this activity creates a unique tourism product, attracting visitors and affirming Bac Ha as a destination rich in identity, attractive and full of vitality.
