On July 6, a representative of Project Management Board 85 - Ministry of Construction said that the construction site of Dai Ngai Bridge and the approach road connecting Vinh Long and Can Tho City has a total of 37 construction teams, including: 19 teams for Dai Ngai Bridge 1; 4 teams for Dai Ngai Bridge 2; 5 teams for small bridges on the route; 7 teams for roadbed construction and 2 teams for embankment reinforcement of Tran De River channel, with a total of 245 machines, equipment and 588 personnel.

Currently, construction package No. 11-XL (Dai Ngai 2 bridge) has 19 construction teams, with 112 equipment and 224 workers and engineers to treat weak soil roadbed; build bridges; construct embankments to reinforce the Tran De river channel. 6/6 bridges under construction have reached 100%. Construction of 18,348/18,348 m of bored piles has reached 100%; concrete pouring of 39/40 abutments and piers has reached 98%; casting of 199/199 girder slabs has reached 100%; completion of 5/6 bridges has reached 83%.

According to Project Management Board 85, the cumulative output to date has reached 1,505/5,070 billion VND, reaching 29.69% of the contract (excluding contingencies), 5.37% behind the approved schedule. The Dai Ngai 2 Bridge Package is currently being implemented to ensure quality, labor safety and environmental sanitation, the bridge construction progress exceeds the approved schedule, the road progress is behind schedule.

The Dai Ngai 1 Bridge package is being implemented to ensure quality, labor safety and environmental sanitation, and the construction progress basically meets requirements. It is expected that Dai Ngai 2 Bridge will allow motorbikes to circulate on the occasion of National Day, September 2.

The Dai Ngai Bridge project has a total investment of nearly 8,000 billion VND. Of which, the cost of site clearance is over 446 billion VND; the cost of construction and equipment is over 5,446 billion VND; the cost of project management, consulting, and other costs is over 629 billion VND; the contingency cost is over 1,439 billion VND.

The project has a total route length of about 15.14 km. The starting point intersects with National Highway 54, in Tieu Can Commune, Vinh Long (formerly Hung Hoa Commune, Tieu Can District, Tra Vinh). The end point intersects with Nam Song Hau National Highway, Cu Lao Dung Commune, Can Tho City (formerly Long Duc Commune, Long Phu District, Soc Trang ).

The project consists of two main bridges, Dai Ngai 1 and Dai Ngai 2, invested by Project Management Board 85. This is the third cable-stayed bridge across the Hau River, after Can Tho Bridge and Vam Cong Bridge.
