Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hai (42 years old, truck driver) said that he usually uses the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong expressway to receive and deliver goods from Vinh Long and Dong Nai . Not only is the expressway often overloaded, but the national highway and the access roads to the expressway are also often congested and jammed.

When put into operation, the Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway is expected to have many positive impacts on the region, creating momentum for socio -economic development of provinces and cities; especially reducing traffic congestion.

The Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway construction project has a total length of nearly 58 km , passing through the provinces of Long An (2.7 km ), Ho Chi Minh City (26.4 km ) and Dong Nai (28.7 km ).

The total investment to date is nearly VND 29,600 billion, using capital sources including ADB loan (VND 8,065.7 billion), JICA loan (VND 10,101.3 billion), counterpart capital from the state budget (VND 3,872.4 billion) and VEC self-arranged capital (VND 7,547.6 billion).
