The project to build the road connecting Vo Van Kiet to the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong expressway with a total investment of more than 1,500 billion VND has been "frozen" for many years because the investor and project enterprise have committed serious violations.

The project to build the road connecting Vo Van Kiet to Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong Expressway is 2.7km long, starting from the Vo Van Kiet - National Highway 1 overpass intersection to the intersection with the access road to Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong Expressway. The project started in 2015 but was stopped in June 2018.

According to Dan Viet reporters, this project is currently just a deserted area, with no signs of construction even though 12% of the contract value has been built.

Right at the starting point of the connecting road is a bridge pier lying bare with rusted, stained iron frames.

The main road leading to Vo Van Kiet Avenue has not yet formed a route, and is still blocked by many factories and households that have not been cleared.

The Vo Van Kiet route project connecting Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong expressway has a total investment of 1,557 billion VND.

Once completed, the project is expected to reduce traffic congestion on Highway 1, especially during holidays and Tet.

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just sent a notice to Yen Khanh Group Joint Stock Company (investor) and Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong BOT Investment Company Limited (project enterprise) about the early termination of the BOT contract for the investment project to build the section connecting Vo Van Kiet Street to Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong Expressway (phase 1).

According to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the investor and project enterprise have committed serious violations. Therefore, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has no basis to pay for the volume of work performed according to the signed BOT contract.
