Passenger Terminal T3 of Tan Son Nhat International Airport was officially inaugurated on the morning of April 19 after nearly two years of construction, with a total investment of nearly VND11,000 billion. The project is invested by the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV).

Terminal T3 of Tan Son Nhat airport has the most luxurious and modern design in the country.

Construction started in August 2022, Terminal T3 has a total floor area of over 112,500 m2, including 1 basement and 4 upper floors, with a capacity of up to 20 million passengers/year. When put into operation, the total operating capacity of Tan Son Nhat Airport (including Terminals T1, T2 and T3) will reach about 50 million passengers per year.

Before the inauguration ceremony, on April 17, Terminal T3 organized the first real flight test with the route Ho Chi Minh City - Van Don and vice versa, operated by Vietnam Airlines . The outbound flight numbered VN1286 departed at 5:55 a.m. with 105 passengers. The return flight numbered VN1287 landed at 10:50 a.m. the same day, carrying 114 passengers.

Passengers on the test flights experienced the modern infrastructure and attentive service at the terminal. Each passenger was also served a free breakfast and received a souvenir from Tan Son Nhat International Airport.

Through the actual flight test at Terminal T3, the entire system of equipment, aviation service lines, and coordination of units at Terminal T3 operated stably, ensuring service quality, security, and readiness to serve flights in the coming time.

Terminal T3 is highly appreciated for its modern space, scientific layout, and convenience for passengers. The station has 90 traditional check-in counters, 20 automatic baggage drop counters, 42 self-service check-in kiosks, and many advanced technologies such as smart baggage conveyors, security screening machines, automatic tray return, and biometrics.
