Promoting heritage advantages
The My Son World Heritage Management Board and the Da Nang Museum of Cham Sculpture are researching and developing a cooperation plan to promote and attract tourists to visit these two relics.
Accordingly, in addition to supporting each other's image introduction at each destination and tourism promotion programs, the two units will also build a "combo" program with preferential prices for visitors at each destination.
Specifically, if guests have a My Son ticket stub when visiting the Cham Sculpture Museum, they will receive a discount on the ticket price at a certain percentage and vice versa.
According to Ms. Le Thi Thu Trang, Director of the Da Nang Museum of Cham Sculpture, although the plan is still being researched and discussed by the two units based on state regulations, this is considered a suitable and favorable step, especially when the My Son World Cultural Heritage Management Board and the Da Nang Museum of Cham Sculpture have "come under the same roof", both under the management of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City.
“This cooperation not only increases the opportunity for exchange of visitors between the two units but also helps tourists better understand the cultural values of Champa, because the My Son temple complex and the Cham Sculpture Museum have a close relationship in terms of artifacts as well as cultural and historical values,” Ms. Thu Trang analyzed.
In 2024, My Son Temple Complex will welcome 450,000 visitors and Da Nang Cham Sculpture Museum will welcome about 190,000 visitors who buy tickets to visit.

After the merger, Da Nang City became a locality possessing many cultural heritages with 565 relics (including 6 special national relics, 84 national relics and 475 provincial relics).
In addition, there are the Cu Lao Cham - Hoi An World Biosphere Reserve; 28 national intangible heritages; 1 intangible heritage listed by UNESCO as a world cultural heritage and 1 documentary heritage listed by UNESCO as a documentary heritage of the Asia - Pacific region. All have potential for tourism development. In particular, the two world cultural heritages, Hoi An Ancient Town and My Son Sanctuary, play a role as a nucleus spreading to other cultural heritages in the city.
Expectations of “heritage passport”
In fact, developing heritage tourism is not a new issue. Before July 2025, heritage tourism accounted for about 70% of visitors and accommodation in Quang Nam province (old). In particular, the connection between the two heritages of Hoi An Ancient Town and My Son Temple Complex became the main axis in the tourism activities of this locality.
Ms. Truong Thi Hong Hanh, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City, acknowledged that after the space merger, the tourism development space of Da Nang City has become more open. In particular, heritage tourism based on cultural and natural advantages has been and is being focused on by the industry to create new momentum and momentum for Da Nang tourism now and in the following years.
“Da Nang tourism has entered a new phase. Therefore, the task of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism is to synchronize the quality of services and service quality associated with the issue of ensuring safety. In particular, promoting the introduction of new products and services associated with cultural heritages, infusing them with creative ideas and stories of experiences to bring more appeal to tourists” - Ms. Truong Thi Hong Hanh said.
Since July 1, a series of promotional programs, business connections, and tourism stimulus have been implemented by the city, notably the program "Da Nang Heritage Passport - Da Nang Heritage Tour" which was just announced on August 15 to connect all heritages and historical sites in the area to introduce to tourists.
“To own a heritage passport, tourists must visit heritage sites and relics. At each site, visitors will receive an “I have been” stamp. When collecting a certain number of stamps, visitors will be given a voucher or experience services in the city’s tourism stimulus campaign such as discounts or gifts depending on the time; free entrance tickets; online payment incentives; travel incentives…” - Ms. Truong Thi Hong Hanh explained.

Two world cultural heritages, Hoi An Ancient Town and My Son Sanctuary, will play an important role in bringing extremely unique experiences to visitors.
In addition, intangible cultural heritages such as Bài Chòi, documentary heritages, special national relics, and historical relics will also be introduced in the heritage journey passport.
