Canadian Wood increases promotion of Canadian softwood in Vietnam market

Canadian Wood Vietnam is part of Forestry Innovation Investment (FII), an agency of the British Columbia (BC) provincial government, headquartered in BC Canada.

Through market development programs, Canadian Wood Vietnam promotes the advantages and benefits of BC wood products to the wood industry in Vietnam. In addition to raising awareness among manufacturers, they also focus on promoting the BC wood experience program called 'Try Canadian Wood'.

Promoting softwoods from BC

Coming to Vietnam - a fertile land for the wood industry - Canadian Wood Vietnam focuses on promoting the province of BC and Canada as a global wood supplier, providing quality, environmentally responsible products sourced from sustainably managed certified plantation forests.

Specifically, in BC province, about 95% of the forest area is publicly owned and strictly managed by a strict system of environmental protection regulations. More than 41 million hectares of forest land in BC province have achieved sustainable forest certification, including: Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) and Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).

The province of BC places a strong emphasis on responsible harvesting of its softwoods. Only a small portion of the forest (less than 1%) is harvested each year, and through regeneration and restoration efforts, approximately 200 million new trees are planted each year. This is part of a sustainable forest management strategy and plan to ensure the health of nature for future generations.
