During the parade and march to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2, tens of thousands of domestic and foreign tourists are expected to flock to Hanoi to watch the celebrations and participate in sideline activities. At the same time, the demand for accommodation has skyrocketed, and many scams have also broken out.
Amid the "fever" of booking rooms around the central area, impersonators took advantage of customers' trust to create a series of fanpages named after famous hotels, offering to book rooms at preferential prices, requesting to transfer money in advance and then appropriating the rooms.
According to information from Dolce by Wyndham Hanoi Golden Lake Hotel (B7 - Giang Vo Ward, Hanoi), at this time, many fake fanpages have appeared using the hotel's name and image to lure customers to book rooms and steal their deposits. In fact, many cases only realized they had been scammed when they arrived at the hotel.

Grand Vista Hanoi Hotel (146 Giang Vo, Giang Vo Ward, Hanoi) was also targeted by people who set up a fake fanpage to deceive customers. The hotel said it had detected the incident in time and reported it, and the fake page has now been removed by Facebook.
Hanoi currently has 3,761 accommodation establishments with 71,256 rooms; including 85 hotels and apartment buildings with ratings from 1 to 5 stars with a total of 11,965 rooms.
Hotel representatives warned that during peak days, especially during the National Day holiday on September 2, this situation will become even more complicated when the demand for accommodation around the parade and marching areas increases sharply.
These fake fanpages are often set up, buy likes to create credibility, then change their name after the ceremony, continuing their fraudulent activities.
Accommodation units recommend that residents and tourists always carefully check the source of information before booking, only transact through the hotel's verified official website or fanpage, and avoid transferring money to unclear accounts.
