On the evening of November 4, the Y9/141 Police Team was on patrol to control and prevent racing in Ha Dong District ( Hanoi ). Members of the team, including Traffic Police, Criminal Police, and Mobile Police, secretly followed to record videos, and when they reached a safe location, asked the person to stop the vehicle for inspection.
At 9pm the same day, the task force began to "take to the streets" to carry out their mission. At this time, many groups of teenagers were driving without helmets, weaving and swerving at high speed on Tran Phu Street.
A young man named NTS (18 years old, residing in Thanh Oai, Hanoi) was driving a motorbike with license plate 29X7-649.XX without a helmet, weaving in and out, and making a "deafening" exhaust sound, quickly catching the "eyes" of the Undercover Police Team. S. said he bought the exhaust online for 250,000 VND and installed it on his motorbike himself to play with.
"When I was on the road, I heard a very loud explosion, but because I was being naughty, I felt happy. After being punished for this violation, I will learn from my experience," said driver S.
Working group Y9/141 handed over driver S. and the vehicle to Van Quan Ward Police (Ha Dong District) to continue investigating.
About 30 minutes later, the Task Force continued to discover two young men driving a motorbike without a license plate, without a helmet, with the exhaust running, weaving from Quang Trung Street (Ha Dong) to Tran Phu. As soon as they discovered that the police were following them, the two young men recklessly ran away but failed.
At the police station, driver NTĐ. (residing in Thanh Oai) said that he was aware that his behavior of swerving and weaving in and out of traffic was wrong. However, he ran away because he was afraid that the police would confiscate his vehicle.
It is worth mentioning that the authorities not only detected young people weaving and swerving, but also arrested those possessing supporting tools.
At 11:15 p.m. the same day, the Task Force discovered a group of more than 10 young people riding 5 motorbikes without license plates. While traveling from Nguyen Van Loc Street (Mo Lao, Ha Dong) to Tran Phu Street, the group saw the 141 Police Force openly on duty on the side of the road, so they had the idea of revving up and swerving to "tease the checkpoint".
The Y9/141 task force followed the suspects to the White Bridge area (Ha Dong) and stopped them. Many young men turned around and ran away or crashed their motorbikes straight into the task force to escape. The team arrested 8 young men and 4 motorbikes and handed them over to the Mo Lao Ward Police for further investigation and clarification.
Among them, a young man named KHH (20 years old, living in Thanh Oai) carried a three-section stick. According to H., because his group often came home late at night, when walking on the southern main road of the city, they were often chased by other groups of young men with knives and iron pipes, so they had to carry a stick for self-defense.
During a 4-hour shift, the Y9/141 Task Force handed over 12 teenagers who were found to be weaving, swerving, and possessing supporting tools to the Van Quan and Mo Lao Ward Police (Ha Dong District) and Thuong Dinh Ward Police (Thanh Xuan District).
