On July 27, the Coast Guard Region 4 Command said that its patrol boat assisted a fisherman who had a work accident at sea.
Accordingly, at around 5:00 p.m. on July 26, during patrolling, inspecting, controlling, and preventing IUU fishing in the Southwest sea, Ship CSB 4035 under the Command of Coast Guard Region 4 received a request for emergency medical assistance from Mr. Ngo Van Hung, residing in Rach Gia ward, An Giang province (captain of fishing boat KG 90172 TS).
On his ship, crew member Tran Van Kien (36 years old), residing in Ngoc Thuan hamlet, Dong Hung commune, An Giang province, had a work accident while casting a trawl net at sea and needed urgent medical assistance.
Upon receiving the information, CSB 4035 quickly maneuvered to approach fishing boat KG 90172 TS, transferred the injured crew member to CSB 4035 and provided first aid to the victim.
Specifically, victim Tran Van Kien had his finger crushed, lost 2 bones, and was bleeding profusely and could not be stopped. The medical team of CSB 4035 stopped the bleeding, bandaged it, and provided painkillers and antibiotics.
After receiving medical assistance, victim Kien regained consciousness, his wound was stable, and he was no longer bleeding.
At 8:00 p.m. the same day, crew member Tran Van Kien was assisted by officers and soldiers of CSB 4035 to transfer to fishing boat KG 90172 TS to be brought ashore for further treatment.
