Expressway through Ba Ria

Currently, more than half of the construction work on the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway has been completed. It is expected that the asphalt paving will begin at the end of November, after the rainy season ends.

On November 11th, the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province issued Plan No. 263/KH-UBND launching a high-intensity emulation campaign to complete component project 3 of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway construction investment project, phase 1, before December 31st, 2025.

The expressway through Ba Ria - Vung Tau has taken shape as a route.

The plan aims to respond to the intensive emulation campaign "500 days and nights of emulation to complete 3,000km of expressways" according to Decision No. 1008/2024 of the Prime Minister .

The competition criteria include creative work, completing projects on schedule or ahead of schedule, and ensuring the quality of construction works in accordance with the directives of the Central Government and the province.

Construction, consulting, and supervision will ensure quality, technical standards, aesthetics, environmental hygiene, occupational safety, and the creation of a landscaped development space for the project upon completion. Coordination with local authorities will address difficulties and obstacles related to construction materials and land clearance.

At the same time, research and application of science and technology, information technology, and modern management methods in the design, construction, operation, and management of highway projects will improve labor efficiency, shorten implementation time, and save resources and human capital.

The emulation campaign will be implemented from October 2024, with a preliminary review in December 2024, and a final review at the end of 2025.

According to a report from the Cai Mep - Thi Vai Area Transport Project Management Board (the investor), component project 3 of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway has basically completed 100% of the land clearance work. Construction volume has reached 51% of the project value, and asphalt paving is expected to begin at the end of November when the weather is favorable.

In 2024, the project was allocated nearly 1,200 billion VND from the central government budget, of which 690 billion VND was disbursed, reaching 58%.

Earlier, during a site visit to the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway on November 2nd, Mr. Nguyen Cong Vinh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, requested the investor to coordinate with the contractor to conduct weekly monitoring and promptly take measures to compensate for any delays to ensure the overall progress of the project. He also urged accelerating the project's progress in the coming period.

"The project must strive to overcome difficulties and ensure technical traffic flow before April 30, 2025. At the same time, it must closely coordinate with the Ministry of Transport to promptly submit to the Government a proposal to allocate central government investment funds for the project as prescribed," Mr. Vinh said.

Highway construction output is increasing rapidly every day.

Currently, along the entire 19.5km section of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway passing through Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, the consortium of three contractors is simultaneously carrying out construction with more than 15 work teams. They have mobilized 225 pieces of equipment and 415 personnel to implement the work across the project, with approximately 51% of the work completed.

Of that total, Son Hai Company is constructing 14.2km of road, currently deploying 5 construction teams with nearly 100 pieces of equipment and 200 personnel. Workers are focusing on constructing items such as culverts, K95 and K98 earth embankments, crushed stone base, cement-stabilized crushed stone base layer, underpasses, and service roads...

Company 703 is constructing 5.3km of road and 2 overpasses, currently deploying 5 construction teams with nearly 75 pieces of equipment and 115 personnel. The focus is on culvert construction, K95 and K98 earth embankment, and crushed stone base course. 18/18 bored piles for the bridge at Km 48+224.74 have been completed, and the bridge piers are under construction (50% completed); 28/32 bored piles for the bridge at Km 49+935.23 have also been completed.

Company 479 is constructing 9 bridges, currently deploying 6 construction teams with nearly 50 pieces of equipment and 100 personnel. They are working on 7 out of 9 bridges, with 5 bridges undergoing pile foundation and abutment construction, and 1 bridge (Suoi Da Bridge) in the finishing stages.
