Successfully resuscitated hemiplegia patient with new technique

(Baohatinh.vn) - An 80-year-old patient in a deep coma, completely paralyzed on the left side of his body, has just had a cerebral vascular revascularization intervention performed at Ha Tinh Provincial General Hospital using a mechanical thrombus removal method.

Doctors at Ha Tinh Provincial General Hospital successfully intervened for the patient.

Previously, patient NTL (80 years old, Thanh Sen ward) was taken to the Provincial General Hospital for emergency care by his family when he discovered signs of suspected stroke such as decreased consciousness and left hemiplegia.

The patient was immediately transferred to the intervention room and was treated by Dr. Hoang Hai Phu - Hue Central Hospital (supporting the technical transfer) and the medical team, doctors of Ha Tinh General Hospital to re-open the cerebral blood vessels by removing thrombus (blood clot) with mechanical instruments.

The intervention resulted in the complete re-opening of the blocked cerebral blood vessels. After the intervention, the patient was conscious, able to communicate, and his hemiplegia was restored.

Currently, the patient has been transferred to the Emergency Department for continued active treatment and specialist consultation to have the best prevention plan.
