Synopsis of the movie When The Phone Rings

The female lead, Hong Hui Ju (played by Chae Soo Bin), is the illegitimate daughter of a media mogul. A childhood accident caused her to lose her ability to speak. Currently, Hui Ju works as a sign language interpreter in courts and on television.
When her older sister unexpectedly runs away right before her wedding, Hui Ju is forced to take her place and marry Baek Sa Eon (played by Yoo Yeon Seok), the son of an influential political family. Sa Eon is the youngest spokesperson at the Blue House, having held important roles such as war correspondent, hostage negotiator, and television editor.
Despite appearing to be a perfect couple, the marriage between Sa Eon and Hui Ju was actually a sham. Throughout their three years together, they rarely spoke to each other and had never even shared a meal.
Things begin to change when Sa Eon receives a call from a stranger claiming to have kidnapped Hui Ju. Instead of worrying, he calmly and coldly challenges the kidnapper to harm his wife. Sa Eon's indifference plunges Hui Ju into despair, thus initiating a series of unexpected events that force both of them to confront the hidden aspects and secrets within themselves.
