Twins win international math gold medals and are awarded 300 million VND

Quang Nam province has commended and awarded certificates of merit to twin brothers who won gold medals at the Turkmenistan Mathematical Olympiad, each receiving a prize of 150 million VND.

On the morning of April 29, the People's Committee of Quang Nam province held a ceremony to honor and reward twin brothers Nguyen Tri Hien (older brother) and Nguyen Tri Hau (younger brother), both 11th graders in math at Nguyen Binh Khiem High School for the Gifted, who won gold medals at the Turkmenistan Mathematical Olympiad.

The ceremony was attended by Provincial Party Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet and Provincial People's Committee Chairman Le Van Dung.

At the ceremony, Mr. Le Van Dung said he was very happy to hear that the two students had won gold medals. This was a great joy for the Party Committee and people of the province.

The fact that the two students won high prizes has contributed significantly to promoting the tradition of studiousness in Quang Nam.

He also appreciated the efforts of the provincial education and training sector and Nguyen Binh Khiem High School for the Gifted in creating conditions for students to compete and win high prizes in international arenas.

He also welcomed the studious spirit of Tri Hien and Tri Hau to achieve high achievements, continue to spread their wings to fly higher and further, and win more and more prestigious awards.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee decided to award certificates of merit to Tri Hien and Tri Hau and a bonus of 150 million VND for each student.

He also awarded certificates of merit to two teachers of the school who directly trained the award-winning students.

Nguyen Tri Hau shared that on the exam day, the two of them lived in the sky of mathematics, worried about and experienced the exam hours, both received gold medals, their efforts were rewarded.

Receiving the award, the two students thanked their teachers, families, leaders and promised to always cultivate and train to become useful citizens for the country in the future.

The 2nd Turkmenistan International Mathematics Olympiad was held from April 21 to 26 in the capital Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.

The exam had more than 230 students from 15 countries participating, including some countries with good math traditions such as China, Russia, Bulgaria, Türkiye, Uzbekistan, host country Turkmenistan...

This is a great intellectual playground, aiming to promote the love of mathematics, the spirit of learning, and enhance international exchange for students from different countries.

After a 5-hour contest with 5 questions, each worth 10 points, Hien and Hau excellently achieved a score of 40/50 points, the highest score of the contest.

In addition to Hien and Hau, four other Vietnamese students also won gold medals. Vietnam ranked first overall.
